It has to be, he's the only one of the Energon combiners left. Which is good for me since it's the only one I have.

Except that Fansproject has been planning to do its own original combiner called Glacialbot for at least a year and a half. I'm hoping for Devastator too but this is far more likely.

I think it's safe to assume it's going to be Devastator. That's good news and bad news for me though. The good news is that I actually have the Classics Devastator which is already overpriced on Ebay (and goodness knows how much more his price will skyrocket when the Crossfire 3 set is announced). The bad news is that I'll probably end up getting the increasingly overpriced Crossfire 1 set for my aerialbots just to complete the Crossfire sets.
Still, I'm pretty anxious to see the Crossfire 3 set for Devastator. The Energon/Classics Devastator head is the fugliest thing I've ever seen.

I don't think they would pull out their first complete combiner in a series designated to perfect the energy combiners. Fansproject knows the demand for a Devy set..too much money to be made for them to skip out on this.

Me too. And my EBay-ed classics devastator came without his energon hands/feet so I need this set.

If this is in fact a Devestator kit, what do you think this will do to TFClubs release?

They also said at Botcon they weren't doing Devastator because CrazyDevy's pretty much got it covered from every angle. As much as I want it to be Devastator, I honestly don't think that's what it's going to be. And the picture I posted is from the same display that revealed the Warbot (Springer) and Defender (Rodimus).

Yeah, I remember the news about their combiner and the junkions. I just hope it's Devestator. I think they would be missing out on a golden opportunity. CrazyDevy puts out some good stuff, don't get me wrong, but FP could do way better.

I want to email them to ask if they're still planning to release the Broadside they showed but they never named it, just called it TFX-Warbot with "???" in the name space.

Hmm good idea. I haven't got them to reply to me before. I hope they are though. I'm more excited about that than the combiner they have planned.

There should be a misplaced topic button for all the FP posts in the regular toys forum ...
Since I don't have Devestator I kinda hope it isn't him. Selfish, I know. If it is, I just might skip it. Both Bruticus and Superion were in stores when they were announced, so I was all for picking those up, but all Devestators are expencive.

I just fired them an email reading:
At a convention in 2009 you're company showed several images of planned projects. Among them were the TFX-Warbot Collector and a TFX-Warbot labeled "???" but it had rather broad sides. I was wondering if you were still developing these and if you had a estimated time frame that they would become available.
If they get back to me, I'll let everyone know.

I can't Imagine how they could possibly make that work. It would involve lots of new figures, and maybe some heavily modified existing figures. For example Scrapper would go right out the window because of Hook and Long Haul would need to be made to replace him, Long Haul would have to be reworked to turn him into Mixmaster, the only one I could think of that would be unaltered or replaced would be Bonecrusher taking the place for Scrapper. Just thinking about turning Classics Devastator into a G1-esque Devastator gives me a headache.

After the fantastic job FP did with Bruticus, creating two all new scouts to represent Swindle and Blastoff and totally reinventing the limb transformation for Vortex to get Bruticus elbows, I have 100% faith that FP could create a G1-esque Devastator from Classics/Energon Devastator. It may give you a headache, but I think FP could pull it off with flying colors.

I completely agree. Look at the engineering improvement from crossfire 01 to the second installment. FP could pull this off. And as pointed out earlier, FP has already announced and named their from scratch combiner. Why would they cover up crossfire 03 in the instructions like we don't know if it was him. I think the third crossfire belongs to Devy.

I'd love to see what they can do with a Devastator Crossfire. Swap out the gray and purple leg pieces for say a mixer truck and a dump truck, add some hands, feet, and weapons, and they'll have another sure-fire hit. I think there's a great demand for them to finish the Energon combiners (though in fairness, there's a demand wherever the FansProject name turns up), and the number of figures or pricing of the few remaining figures shouldn't deter them. The rarity of Shattered Glass Rodimus and Wildrider isn't stopping them from putting out an add-on for those figures (granted, it's a redeco, so that makes it easier, but they're still creating parts specifically for that set, but the point remains that they'll put out an add-on for a hard-to-find figure).
As for the idea that they're content on letting CrazyDevy upgrade Devastator...if that's so, then where's my CrazyDevy Energon/Classics Devastator add-on kit? Oh, wait, there isn't one.

This. The idea that there
must be 6 Constructions would have to go. To make it a 6 con combiner, they'd have to make 4 of the 6 and the 2 that form the torso would have to be half the size of the others. At that point they'd be better off just making their own original Devastator. Of the 3 sets, Devastator needs it the least. I'm not happy with Glacialbot but it's their first time doing their own original creation. But if I had my way the Crossfire 3 would be a Fansprojects original Menasor. Stunticons need love too!

I personally don't mind the idea of a five-member Constructicon team (and technically, we've already got one - the Engergon/Classics combiner). And in fairness, apologies to Bonecrusher, with a front-end loader already on the figure, the bulldozer would be the prime candidate to go. This leaves a diverse five-member team with a crane truck, a powered-shover, a front-end loader, a dump truck, and a cement mixer. Add the hands, feet, and weapons, and I'm all over it.
But I also agree that I'd love to see some of the actual G1 combiner teams done up by Fansproject. Menasor and Defensor would be at the top of my list.
