The Allspark is reporting that they received word from Hasbro's Transformers Team Public Relations group that the Challenge at Cybertron 3-pack is not going to be released in the US and is an Asian Market Exclusive. It was rumored that this would be a Target exclusive. See the full report
here.

Well that's disappointing to hear. I was really looking forward to this set here in the states. I honestly don't want to pay premium just to get it imported but we'll see what happens. Hopefully Hasbro gets a change of heart.

Double dammit.
The set runs $50+ and you end up with two figures you really don't need just to get one you want.
For that price, I might as well just buy a used Classics in the correct colors and be done with it.
Though, ToyArena is offering just the Rodimus for $35.00 through eBay.
I just can't understand why Hasbro is willing to fire up the molds for the Asian market but won't bring it here. Especially when G1 is heavily sought after here.
Dumb, dumb move Hasbro. Very dumb. This is one of the many reasons why 3rd parties are getting more of my money. I'm sick and tired of waiting on Hasbro to get around to it, especially when they never do. Or even try.

That's really too bad, I was hoping they would come to Canada as well. Hopefully they could at least release Cyclonus in the Generations line. May be wishful thinking, but it'd be great to see it released with this colour scheme, and since I missed out the first time it was released in Universe it'd be a plus for me. Also, if any of the 3 of them were to be the biggest seller, it would definitely be Cyclonus, being that he has received by far the most positivity vs the other 2 who no one really cared about, and that he seems like an overall better figure than both of the others.

That sucks.
Oh well then. I think I can still get Galvatron online.
Cyclonus shouldn't be a problem either.
If all else fails, I just buy a set off TFSource,or something.
Not a huge deal really.

didn't they say the same thing about those four black-boxed Classics that ended up being sold online?

I bought one from RobotKindom and overall I think it is a good set. I think this is the cyclonus paint scheme that looks the best. I already have Hasbro and Takara's version and this one definitely stands out.
I was thinking of getting another Hot Rod anyway, since Protector is coming out and I can use my Henkei Hot Rod for that.
Galvatron is a slight improvement over the Hasbro version in my opinion. I never really liked this mold and never bothered with getting one from Takara.
Overall it is a great set, although mine came with a minor defect. One of nightstick's feet is not attached. It sort of stays on with friction, but it does fall off occasionally and it is only a matter of time before I lose it.

Don't feel disappointing, although I do own this pack and the colors painting are great. I really feel unhappy over getting the Cyclonus with both same left hands assemble wrongly and Galvatron is so loose all over it. It seems like the factory folks skip the QC or something.
Luckily Rodimus were the only one not affected and kickass. I already contacted the Robotkingdom.com if the hand can be replace, well no single response for coming three months now. If anyone had any idea where I can find any parts replacement it would be appreciate to let me know.

Got 2 of them from BBTS.. The rodimus figure is actually really cool lookin as is the cyclonus. Galvatron on the other hand is gonna be fodder for my customs. Anyone looking for the rodimus just scope ebay..Alot of people are selling the figure by itself for somewhat reasonable prices..

Well we all know Hasbro has a complex about giving fans the paint schemes G1 accurate. They give crappy decos and dodge questions as they did at Botcon. I personally ordered the set for Cyclonus. This is definitally the most G1 accurate version. Getting a more G1 accurate Galvatron was an extra added bonus. The white should have been just a little darker shade of grey, but not as dark as the Hasbro version. And I dont understand why Rodimus has become so costly all of a sudden ??? I passed on his Hasbro version when it was $9.99 at Wal-mart 3 years ago. Why are so many a**holes saying it's worth $70-80 on e-bay ??? Who started this price gouge and why ???
But I gotta admit, this version of Rodimus looks BAD ASS under a blacklight !!!

Fansproject made Rodimus worth about $80.. As they did with Bruticus..As they did with Superion. Classics Op, classics UM, classics nemesis prime..The 3rd party market has that effect now a days...

I'm considering buying the 3-pack from BBTS and selling off the other two figures. I have absolutely no use for a second Galvatron, especially that one. Cyclonus looks nice, but I don't need a second one, and I only need Rodimus for Protector.
Hmm.

it's a good thing i ordered one, i missed out on hot rod 4 years ago and i was not gonna make the same mistake twice

. cyclonus has a sweet paint job, and galvatron, well who cares about him. I just want to know why hasbro keeps screwing the fans over? and it's not just this set, it's also the animated line, and the seeker molds. It took four years to make thrust and dirge avalible to us. why? if it wasnt for U.S. fans hasbro woud be nothing.

And One! That's what.
Don't be so saaaltyyy.
All the signs pointed to this not being released in the western market. People just chose to ignore those and hope really really hard that it would happen.

Okay, I'm sorry, but Hasbro is not just Transformers. We don't keep Hasbro in the black. They don't depend on us to continue to stay in business. They have so many other products besides Transformers. To think that it's the Fans that keep Hasbro afloat is just arrogant and ignorant.
Does it suck that we aren't getting this set here? Yes, it does. It's a bummer. But it was not a conscious decision by Hasbro to "screw the fans!" I'm pretty sure they have people that know marketing much better than 99% of us on this board.
So, suck it up. If you want this set bad enough, you'll find a way to get it. It probably would have been at least $30 in stores. An extra $25 won't kill anybody if they skip the Friday night pizza for two weeks.

Meh, oh well. It would have been nice, but it's not a deal breaker. Rodimus and Galvatron were going to the kids anyway, so it's no biggie.
Sorry for those who really wanted this.
