Shattered Glass in Generations Line?

Seems like an ideal way to justify new repaints of classics molds.
The molds exist HasTak WILL repaint them again, why not have a consistent theme?

Or is the shatteredverse too odd/obscure for casual collectors?

I would love that. I might even buy some of them, to the pit my financial status. I just want the Shattered Glass concept to be fleshed out elsewhere besides in comics exclusive to club members that need 40 dollars to join.

Club/BotCon exclusive toys. 'Nuff said. Regular toys have been repuposed for Shattered Glass though.

Yeah, I have to say that the SG verse is a bit too obscure to the regular Transformers fan. Not everyone can get their hands on the BotCon '08 SG set without giving away an arm and leg. I think SG Cyclonus is the last official figure we'll see, and just like Jelze said, a lot of older figures were re-purposed into the SG verse.

However I do like how FunPub is continuing BotCon sets, just like with G2 Ramjet as a TFCC figure next year, but I really don't got a thing for SG.

I don't really see how Shattered Glass versions of characters are any more obscure than some repaints that are put out as brand new, never before seen characters, who may or may not pay homage to older ones if you squint a bit or swap their heads with someone else. Not that Generations has seen much/any of this, but it's far from inconceivable going on other lines.

edit: personally SG doesn't do anything for me, and I don't own any of the toys...unless accidentally by having something that's been repurposed. But the concept is "Evil Autobots/Good Decepticons" anyone who's stumbled across a mirror universe episode of any Sci-fi/Fantasy show or comic will recognise the trope. I do wish Evil Prime had a goatee though.

Personally, I love the Shattered Glass concept and would love it if they did do some more figure in that style but I suppose you could put the Shattered Glass Box set and other figures from Botcon in there, Cyclonus, Nemesis Prime, Shadow Commander, the dark Protector armou, Dark Skyfire (I know he's a Decepticon but he still matches the main criteria), Electro Disruptor LIgier (kind of) as being related to/insprired by SG.

The only slightly likely one I could see would be Optimus Prime (Convoy) from the Classics line being given a Japanese Nemesis/Sleep mode Exclusive redeco as it would make sense to do it now being 2010 and Takara Tomy still haven't released Prime again as anything else than a lucky draw figure.

Sorry, I forgot to say that I think Masterpiece Rodimus's repaint would most likely be Shattered Glass/Shadow/Nemesis.

Wishful thinking at its best...

It would be fantastic wouldn't it?
I actually wouldn't get it as I don't go for the Masterpiece repaints.

I don't know though.....After having made this amazing new mold, you know they'll be releasing a repaint sometime.....I can't think of any other alternatives apart from Nemesis/Shattered Glass.

I haven't read the comics for years so maybe I've missed out on an obvious repaint but after nemesis prime, nemesis hot rod/rodimus would make sense.

Hell yea that'd be awesome! But we both know it'd cost an arm and a leg, and it'd be just another Transformer I can't afford, lol. Maybe they'll repaint it as Menasor (like SDCC Menasor was a repaint of Titanium Rodimus). But even that's a long shot. Maybe they'll just repaint it as "comic accurate" Rodimus and give him some new weapons like a Targetmaster. That's sorta what happened with Grimlock. Everyone expected a G2 Repaint, and all we got was the comic version.

Would be cool if TAK did a shattered glass line to compliment the botcon set. Sans too much chrome of course  But it could be cool for the collector market. Hell, that SG set is one of my personal grails after a 97 GOD set.

Of course it would be interesting/awesome and such if SG was added to Classics/Generations or if Takara took a swing at them, but the fact is Shattered Glass is a property for the Club, and despite anyone's personal feelings for FunPub, SG is their property to chart not Hasbro's.

Unless Hasbro have a clause in their contracts, should the club's contract be revoked that all aspects regarding Transformers not limited to/ but including their fictional storylines (SG, wing of Honour, G2 Revisited, Games of deception, et al) be handed in full to Hasbro. The only way we will get new release will be from the club.

Blurrz, not to argue a semantic, but Ravage should be the last official one that has been released seeing Cyclonus started shipping prior to Botcon.

Honestly I hope Takara finds the old Technobot and Terrorcon molds, I'd love a SG Abominus. His look and bio(s) are brilliant.

TBH I can see the possibility of a Hate Plague Rodimus repaint!

Don't count on it. FP are well aware how popular that venture was. They won't let it die quietly. I would be entirely shocked if Cyclonus was the last SG figure we got.

I'd like him when he went all blue when him and Magnus disguised themselves to help Daniel and Spike infiltrate Trypticon and the Decepticon building site. That was cool.
