The Rub Sign Fanclub!

Have you heard that Hasbro is bringing back the rub sign faction symbols? You have! Well alright, come join the nostalgia party!

I for one and I'm very excited that Hasbro is including these with future Generations releases. The Universe 2.0 line seemed a little, I dunno, uninspired without them. It's the perfect way to tell my genuine Hasbro Transformers apart from those generic imitations, you know, like GoBots. Or Pokemon.

Agreed. I miss the rub sign and I am VERY happy to see they are back.

Its not like they were gone that long this time. Classics had them. Universe did not. Generations gets them.

Still I like them.

As a kid I really liked them and I still do. In some cases they make sense, others not so much. Tracks makes sense.

I'm with ya!

While I definitely like the "exposed" faction symbols, I can't escape the nostalgia of the 'ol rubsigns! I'm glad to see them on new/upcoming TFs!

I dunno. When I saw Tracks with one I thought it was nice for nostalgia but over all I don't miss them. Maybe if they didn't have the big silver frame I'd like them more.

I don't think I paid much attention to them when I was younger. I took it for granted that Transformers should have rub signs. It didn't really dawn on me they were missing until after Hasbro's Botcon panel on Sunday when they mentioned Windcharger would have have one. When you drive home for 2 hours after the panel, you tend to think about those things. :D

I was kinda surprised at my own reaction to seeing the rubsign on Turbo Tracks. Glad to have them back. My daughter gets a kick out of them. I owe her an explanation on how they work. *googles*

Yeah. I missed them as well. For me, they were damn near rubbed off of my G1's when I was a kid. I think they add that special nostalgic touch to modern revisited characters.

I think the Rubsigns were gone before I was born, never really knew about them, seem like a cheap enough gimmick to be fun though.

With all the KOs out today I would like to see them on ALL TFs including Movie-verse.

Sorry, guess I am one of the younger members here, well, maybe with the gimmick coming back I can what separates TransFormers from Pokemon.

Gotta Rub'em All!

...

That sounded wrong. Maybe that was what separates it from Pokemon?

Still, I like rubsigns. They are good to see working when your house is allready melting in summer.

If you sat a Pikachu down next to a Cheetor, I don't think I'd be able to tell them apart without a rub sign.

I like rubsigns. They make more sense for "Robots in disguise" than a big red or purple face on your hood. And if you use your imagination, its not too hard to ditch the dumb idea that they'd have a big black square on them, but that the faction symbol would be somehow concealed, just as the vehicle form conceals a robot.

I prefer my figures looking TV series and comic book art accurate but when it comes to rub signs I like them. They maintain a sense of nastolgia and as a constant reminder that they are still toys.

I'm indifferent to rub signs, I guess.

I have no problems with them, I don't see an absolute need for them either.

If they're meant to be there (and Tracks is one of those toys that is known for having a rubsign), then I have no problem with 'em.

If they're added for no good reason, other than another gimmick, eh. I think that is wasted resources.
