So aside from the different colors, i was wondering if all the keys are the same or is each one different? also do i need the keys to make Supreme Starscream talk and light up?

Some have different patterns as well as different colous but one key will work on any figure.

I don't know anything about Starscream but I'm guessing you will need a key to activate certain features.

On Supreme Starscream the keys only unlock his sword and Null Ray Cannon. The electronics are activated by moving the arms, no keys needed.

As for the keys themselves, A while back I made a thread about the different kinds of keys, but there are 10 main types:

- Matrix shape (Optimus Prime)
- Universe (Vector Prime)
- Decepticon Leader (Megatron)
- Speedia/Velocitron/Speed Planet (Lightning bolt)
- Animatros/Jungle Planet (Clawed foot print)
- Earth (Sunrise)
- Gigalonia/Giant Planet (Gears)
- Autobot
- Decepticon
- Planet X Decepticon

All have the same jack, so any Cybertron mold can make use of any key.

For easy access, I'll give you the TFU.info entries, which shows the figure and its accessories, including the keys:

Optimus Prime with Matrix Key (note that the Japanese version has a golden border
Megatron with Decepticon Leader Key
Vector Prime with Universal Key (Japanese version has silver paint)

The following have both gold and regular silver versions. The Leader of each planet has the gold version:

Override with Speed Planet Key
Scourge with Jungle Planet Key (funnily enough, his repaint's key is silver-bordered)
Evac with Earth Planet Key
Metroplex with Giant Planet Key

The following have no variants within the line (Primus is an exception, normally the key has a red symbol), and are quite rare compared with the rest:

Cybertron Primus with Cybertron Autobot Key

Starscream with Cybertron Decepticon Key (the only other character with the same key is Scrapmetal)
Sideways with Planet X key

You can look in tfu.info They have pictures of the keys for each figure.

by the way Supreme Starscream doesn't talk as far as I know he only has some blasting sounds and such but no real speech.

kinda off topic and i could be wrong about this but, doesn't some of the transformers share the same missile mold type? They are usually the 1st things that gets lost and usually hard to find too.

Sometimes the missiles are similar. But most of the time, at least what I've noticed, is that the missiles don;t really work with launchers from other figures.

I normally keep the missiles in a box but I went through them recently to match them up. I found one or two missiles out of around eighty worked fairly well in the wrong launcher but when I found the right one the difference was very clear. So generally, no you need the right missiles.

Back to the subject of keys, the standard planet-less key was remolded to feature a mini-con port then given to the reissue of the Armada Supercon Prime.

There's also at least one Sector Seven key from the Traget exclusives of the first movie (which were released as two-pack Walmart exclusives in the Universe line):

Mold-wise, isn't that the same as the Planet X Keys?

Yup, the S7 key is a Planet X key in balck and green to match Hardtop's color scheme.

Incidentally, and ironically enough, I just noticed Hardtop has no top. He's a topless buggy. He has doors but no roof.

And Demolishor. The surface is smoothed out and the symbol is just a tampograph.

As you may see, there are some key types that are reused to create new types. Here's the list:

Movie Hardtop with Sector 7 Key. Recolored Planet X key.
Movie Big Daddy with Movie Autobot Key. Recolored Cybertron Autobot Key.
Movie Jolt with Movie Decepticon Key. Recolored Planet X key.
BotCon 2006 Axalon Optimus Primal with Golden Disk Key. Recolored Planet X key.

The rest of the recolored keys only appear once, so they're not listed.
