Removing stickers and cleaning old ones with never applied stickers?

Helped part out a T-Former collection for an online seller and landed myself some figures and sticker sheets for payment.
It leads me to two questions.
Best way to remove already existing stickers on current figures?
Also best way to clean figures that are old but have non applied stickers?
Just want to make sure I do it as safely as possible, but have some worries over what to use on removing sticker residue and the like on the older figs.
Just trying to avoid doing damage to anything.
Thanks

For sticker residue, I use lighter fluid. As far as I know it does not affect paint, but it dissolves the residue quite nicely. To remove actual stickers it's best to peel them off as much as you can first, then apply lighter fluid. I suppose you could dampen the labels with water (or even lighter fluid) first before trying to peel them off, it could make it easier.

I use a chemical in a aerosol can called super-solve.Its been a long time since I bought any so not sure where to get it.If they still make it should be able to find it online.I have seen some people mention goo gone before but have no experience with it myself.

For removing old stickers my weapon of choice is Testors paint thinner/brush cleaner. I've used it and q-tips to clean pretty much every G1 figure I own without any problems.

If cleaning a figure which has NEVER had stickers... well, to be honest, good old soapy water works wonders. Just make sure to thoroughly dry it afterwards.

Well, I kind of figured soap and water would be fine on no sticker applied versions lol
SO u guys have used lighter fluid without any issues?
Just wanting to make really sure, don't want any faded or damaged plastic

I've used lighter fluid on my vintage Blitzwing, Jetfire and Sandstorm, with no issues so far. I believe I used Ronsonol brand in the yellow bottle. I did use it sparingly though, generally dipping a q-tip in the fluid, then using that to rub away the residue. Might not want to dip the entire figure in it or anything like that.

I swear by rubbing alchol. Just don't touch anything painted. It removes sticker residue very well and just cleans plastic great, including chrome. Just don't think gold chrome is cause I removed a slag's feet cause I though the gold was like chrome and it turned out to be paint. I just did a g1 hound this weekend and I have an unused g1 sticker sheet ready for him but I agree he looks great clean. I think some, like hound, have too many stickers in a small area and it kinda makes them look like an add board at sports stadium. I may leave him alone or just do the insignia and a couple more.
