Ok so I found one of these 3 packs for 35.99 and picked it up. Just in case you forgot the figures are Hot Rod, Galvatron, and Cyclonus. First off the Cyclonus is fantastic. I have the original Universe Cyclonus and to get one in the G1 color scheme is great. No complaints there. Galvatron sucks...he has a horribly complex and involved transformation and not to mention my cannon barrel is horribly loose on the ball joint which just makes a mediocre figure at best even worse. Hot Rod is the iffy one. The color scheme is meh...it has a lot of yellow. But my question is, has the articulation of the Classics Hot Rod always been pretty terrible? It just sucks compared to some of my other figures. Im wondering because im interested in protector armor, but I dont know if its worth it for this guy unless they are increasing the articulation

I had no issues with mine and, while Galvatron is pretty fail in the figure department, I do like the colors on this one best of all. i had no issues with anything being loose on mine. Hot Rod, love the colors myself but, it is all preference. As far as his limited articulation goes, yep. The HAS and TAK versions are all the same. The FP kit should remedy that problem though.

thanks a lot. the colors arent horrible i agree. I think it may just be where on my shelf i have him. The bright red sticks out like a sore thumb lol. Glad to hear you got a better galvatron though. 3 figures for 35 wasnt bad so if i had to buy another galvatron and give this one to my nephew i wouldnt be heartbroken...

Right on. I was suprisingly satisfied with all 3 of the figures in this box set. The Classics and Henkei versions were really horrible color scheme wise (as well as design wise imo.) but, I have become quite the fan of the CAC 3 pack Galvatron. (As long as your posing him on a shelf and not attempting to transform him lol.)

i agree he looks good standing in robot mode, so im not too terribly concerned with transforming him.

Well, I've ordered this, if only for Cyclonus. In pictures, at least, he looks so much better than either Henkei or Classics Cyclonus. I've always thought this was a pretty good looking character; so it's nice to see his color scheme done some justice.

I'm kind of expecting to part with the other two figures. From the pictures I've seen, this version of Galvatron looks worse than either the Classics or Henkei versions. I'm really not digging the white (or really light gray). As for Rodimus, I'm put off by the fact that his windows aren't translucent.

Depending on what the forthcoming Battle In Space set delivers, I just might part with the whole lot. But I really don't like rubsigns. (I used to peel them off as a kid, replacing them with proper spare Autobot/Decepticon stickers when possible.)

I've got the set and I have to say that Rodimus is the biggest disappointment for me out of the three. Not only was his windshield painted, but he's still red when he supposed to be somewhat magenta.

In the cartoon, yes, but every single toy has been that dark red shade. Works for me. I'm not a fan of the painted windshield, but I plan on keeping him in bot mode. My Classics Roddy is going to wear the armor.

I'm getting the Battle In Space set instead, so I don't have to waste money on that horrible Galvatron repaint. My Henkei version looks MUCH better. I'm excited about the better Cyclonus though.

the cyclonus has quickly become one of my top figures. He just looks so great in his G! color scheme. He is right up there with the G! paint schemed Universe Onslaught and the SDCC Nemesis Prime

IMHO Galvatron is not that bad. I keep him in bot mode. He almost looks like a Gundam.

Any pics comparing this Cyclonus and the Henkei One? I thought they were the same.

This actually brings up a question. I know Seibs painted the face on his Universe Cyclonus...did he do the same for the Challenge at Cybertron version? I was excited to see he has a painted face, but maybe it's not like that. :-(

Here's a good shot of the face, in sealed package:

You shouldn't be surprised since Nightstick has silver paint on his legs.
