First out of the package toy images of "Welcome To Transformers 2010" Primus has been posted by HK-TF forum member Taru.
This toy is generally available in Asian countries this weekend or next week.
This version of Primus is basically just a repaint, as the Transformers Creator receives no modification.

Very cool, but too expensive for me.

Still a bad looking figure. Was always just too much of the planet modes shapes remaining in robot form for it to look at all convincing.

I never liked Primus. Cybertron was never meant to be a transforemer. And I hated the role Unicron played on Armada as well. I hate big dumb lifeless characters that dont move, fight, or do anything but take up space. Unicron was so much more cool in the G1 movie because he actually had a personality and his body was in motion throughout the movie. In Armada, the final battle between Primus and Unicron was so wack. The didnt even lock fists, move, or talk.

Looks cool, but other than the planet surface in that nice shiny silver there's nothing here compelling me to buy him considering I already have the Cybertron version.

I'm also not liking the overuse of the blue plastic. Specially the blue omega lock, blue arm cannons, blue hands.
They should have been black or gunmetal gray.

There was no battle between Primus and Unicron in Armada, I don't think. I believe it was a minicon generated version of Unicron.

It's funny you mention the Unicron personality in G1. I was actually thinking about that the other day. If Unicron were a true force for Chaos, I don't think he'd actually say anything. Think about it: if you have a personality of any type, you could conceivably be predicted enough information is available. I think personally that the total lack of coherent thought would be more of a chaotic gesture than any well-laid plans. Primus would then be his opposite, a calm, compassionate, and intelligent being that simply could not predict what Unicron would do next. That element of unpredictablility could generate more fear than any plan.

I know, weird huh?

I think Takara really wants my money if they keep releasing stuff this awesome.

Pre-order cancelled.

This will be one of the few rare figures that I'll wait to see if I can get him cheaper.

Love Primus, always have. To me, it's always been dumb that in the universe of Transformers, there was no failsafe for the final form of Primus (Cybertron) that would allow transformation. His creations transform, their nemesis transforms, but the god of the TFs couldn't? I mean, I get a huge part of the Matrix Quest in G1 was that Primus entombed himself so to speak, using an avatar in Xaaron to leave & interact with his self-made prison, and that totally kicked ass in its playout. But, to me, there should always have been that fail-safe, that last resort that allowed a former hardlight, life-energy-embodied entity that became the life of Cybertron, the planet itself, to reconfigure to a planet-sized representation of his former self, as Unicron did. That's why, my lack of interest in the story of 'Transformers: Cybertron' aside, Cybertron Primus has always been one of my favorite figures since his debute. His detailing is great, articulation fan-fuggin-tastic, and the way two huge parts of his planet mode tower over his shoulders look powerful, regal even, something impressive in the aesthetics department.

That said, I did always think the Cybertron mode was a bit too colorful. This new figure did a good job of covering that little ish pretty well, but ended up with two other issues that will keep me from purchasing. Too high a pricetag, and lackluster in the impressive department for robot mode colors.

Keep waiting for a Golden Age Cybertron edition.

I do agree with you, but I'm trying to put a postive angle on things. The all silver planet mode with gold buildings is indeed an improvement. Yes there is a large amount of blue, but its a good contrast to the orange of Unicron. Plus its consistent. Cybertron Primus had so many different coloured parts that he looked like a Picasso, or a damaged car who's owners can't find the matching parts to fix it. Might have him lend 2010 Primus a hand or two.

And a couple of cannons.

...and I just bought a Cybertron Primus on eBay. *sigh*

this one looks good, though. I do like the color scheme in planet mode better. Robot mode makes no difference.

You're saying Unicron didn't need to speak, or convey his plans to Galvatron. Well he did. And to be fair, his plans weren't the most thought out, and more direct, pretty chaotic anyway. Being a God of chaos doesn't mean your completely unpredictable if this god has one major obstacle from becoming the ultimate god of chaos where nothing can stop him, Primus. good/evil, ying/yang, chaos/order, they both oppose each other, yet are driven to always be forced together in this universe. Unicron might be god of chaos, but he is driven to negate the god of order and light....
Plus its a cartoon, man... don't read too far into it. haha. Unicron still pwns Galactus any day.

The only thing I like about this repaint is his color scheme in planet mode. I do own the original version (and sadly, no decapitated Unicron head :-( ), and it's not that bad. Otherwise, this is a pass for me. Sorry creator god of all Transformers.

Overall, superior to the original. I love the new paint scheme, especially the planet mode. It looks spectacular.

...but, it's not enough to convince me to spend $100 - 140 on him, since I already have the original. Unicron? totally worth a second purchase. This guy? I say, if you don't have him and really want him, go for this since it's by far prettier, otherwise you're good.

Here's an elaborate list of what Mr. Primus can do:

*He can transform into Cybertron (obviously)

*His accessories include: Omega Lock, 1 pair of missiles, an Autobot Cyber Key, and if you had gotten one of the previous versions, a decapitated Unicron head.

*He has 3 modes: Humanoid, Planet, and Space Station. Highly recommend not displaying him in Space Station mode.

*In order to transform him properly, the Lock needs to be plugged into 4 places during the process: the top of the planet, which will become his back later on, the sides of his lower legs, when twisted, will cause the planet quarters to rotate into position, and his chest, which when pushed up, will place his head and shoulder guards into their proper position.

*He can fire 2 missiles from his shoulders.

*If you plug the Key in the slots of his arms, 2 pairs of double-barreled cannons pop out of his forearms.

*The Lock lights up when plugged into either of the above-mentioned slots for the Lock.

*He has little "repair arms" that can fold out (unfortunately, you have to fold them out manually).

Overall, this guy has a crap-load of gimmicks. But is he worth $100 or more? Definitely not, but if you want to go for a pricey version of the big guy, go right ahead.
NOTE: This list of his gimmicks is not official; I tried to think of it from the top of my head, so please don't start criticizing how bad I am at trying to list stuff.

Cybertron Primus is a great toy and I really like the deco for planet mode on this version. Unfortunately, I'm thinking this will have to wait until Botcon. Money isn't getting me as far as I'd like these days.

Looks better than Cybertron version, but dosn't really capture G1, if that's what they were going for (what's this suppose to represent if it's not??). Why skimp on some simple paint aps or color changes for a figure in this price range? Pretty lame compared to the job they did with Unicron.

Man...I'mm bummed. The pics that they showed prior to his release seemed like his chest and head were blue. All they did was take the better paint scheme from Cybertron, gave him blue forearms and hands, and paint the shell parts silver. This feels like what they did to some of the 2003 Universe repaints where some parts were painted slightly different, but not enough to warrant a repaint. I have bills ot pay but i won't sacrifice another chunk of change for this. while the paint job on Unicron is decent, this one is very lackluster.

lets also consider the fact that neither Cybertron Primus nor GF Primus have anything totally different at all, exception the box.

the pics we saw before these final pics of the actual toy differ. This is what they did with Dark Skyfire. He looked like Astrotrain but instead he was all black. Im staring not to like Takara this round, Hasbro seems to be getting it right.

Man am I pissed.

Get your Transformer continuity straight son, that did not happen in Armada and you are over-exaggerating it to the max.

This repaint is boring to me...

I watched the whole armada, energon, and cybertron series right before Botcon in May. I was a pretty drunk every night I watched, but if I recall correctly Unicron had no personality what so ever. Nethier did primus. They both talked kind of through mental telepathy to other characters. And in the end their really was no physical battle between the two. Other characters really called the shots. My only point is I liked Unicrons role in the G1 movie better. He does not need to be a god, just a real bad ass robot. And in my opinion primus was kind of a cheap way to even the playing field for the autobots. Like, lets give cybertron a robot mode...that was laim in my book.

Hey at least I gave it a chance, right ??? Im G1 to the core...

Back in the day I scored the Cybertron Primus for £25, half price at my local TRU, on clearance. I really can't justify £100, albeit including shipping, on this one...

Primus and Unicron don't really fight.

Primus is only awakened to close the black hole that was caused by Unicron's destruction.
