Weather you call him Masterforce, Godmaster, or Powermaster Overlord (unless I got it all wrong let me know) I feel he is still a sought after TF. So a buddy of mine won him on ebay and paid $800+ for him making him the most expensive TF he has ever bought. Waaaaay to damn much for my wallet.

And after he won I did chime in saying "hmm I wonder if it truly is the real deal or a KO". He wasn't too happy after those words. And after looking at the images it looked really really top shelf, but aren't most KO suppose to look that good? So have a look and see, I would really like to hear from everyone especially those who know. Is to good to be true or not to be?

I think that's the real deal, judging by the creases on the box and the sticker sheet.

I've yet to hear stories of Japanese-only figs getting the "authentic" KO treatment. I could be wrong though.

I'm almost 99.9% certain that's a genuine, original product. I've taken a very close look at the pictures on eBay, and compared them to my original Overlord at home. If it is a fake then it's a very, very, very good reproduction indeed.

There are some Chinese Godmasters out there that are hi quality KO's. However, the seller probably got a pristine Overlord and kept it that way.Not every G1 toy is a fake because it's clean, it's a rarity but not unsuual.

When I collected Brave TF's one KO for Da Garn X/Lion came in a big giant two pack box. The differences were minor with the colors, and compared to the real the quality was exactly the same as the re-issue Takara put out in 2002. The Lion that combines with Da Garn fit perfectly on both Da Garn toys. The Lion had it's electronics gutted, still it matched Takara's version in design.

It wasn't a Korean re-issue, because I had a few of those. Even though it was a KO, I sold each part for large sums of money. Brave collectors know there stuff and I was shocked to see it go so high.

So not all KO's are created equal. I know.

Everyone seriously, thanks a lot for the word all around. You guys have definitely put my friends paranoia to rest. Can you believe he actually prefers the Euro box? I told him the one he was getting is so much better looking I think. Yeah the other one is ok and I'm sure some dig it but the Japanese one is the best of the two, thanks again to all that commented.

No you got it wrong, G1 Overlord is the one figure you do want the KO of. The G1 overlord KO goes for way more than the original, is of a higher quality plastic and looks cooler.

A lot of chrome indeed!! To me it gives it a bit of a henkei look with the amount of chrome. But chrome aside this guy is unbeleiveable and beyond!! Now why the hell do you suppose Takara didn't get the idea and make him the variant like Metro Titan or Blackzarak?

Dead Metal...what's the most you have seen one go for or hear one go for and have you ever seen one on ebay? Thanks for sharing that image of Alpha Base. Clearly Overlord is a much sought after TF, but Alpha Base Robot is a true grail in anyone's stash!

Whoo, thanks for providing the link. I didn't know Overlord had a KO version of him.

Well...looks like Korea is at it again. They used the Overlord mold for one of there "fake" sentai shows over there. They had two shows that were staright rip-offs of Gundam and Macross (robotech). The Macross ripoff show used the VF-1S as a sentient robot who would come to the pilot on command.

...Dangit. Between this and Last Stand of The Wreckers, I really want an Overlord now.
