Hardhead question.

I thought I had read this somewhere on the boards, but I wasn't sure. I can't find it anywhere- did someone say that they were going to re-release the Hardhead universe figure? I was hoping this was true so that I could get the Hothead figure. Plus I could have sworn someone said there was a possibility of a figure done for the Onslaught too. Was I just imagining this?

You're just seeing things, as I've never heard any such rubbish.

I think Hardhead ending up warming shelves at Wal-mart until they started to clearance them out. Which happens with a lot of exclusives. Like a lot of repaints lately, there was not a huge demand for them until a 3rd party stepped up and produced something that took the figure to the next level.

A valuable lesson: buy every repaint that is a homage (even in name only) for someone out there eventually will make something to make it awesome.

I seem to regret about half my initial "easy passes" and end up paying twice as much for them later. Best to just buy them while they're at retail and save the receipts in case they go on clearance.

Waiting for what? That figure already is awesome!
I am kicking myself for not picking up Skyfall now, as that Renderform set is freakn sweet.

Waiting for a head that looks like Dragstrip. And another set of wheels would be cool if possible. Being a 6-wheeled formula one car is kind of his thing.

That happens to me alot. Initially looking at the Hardhead when it was plenty in stock, i just couldn't dig it. But now that 3rd party Hothead figure is out, it makes the Hardhead look more like the G1 I used to have and love. I did see someone who has it on their Onslaught (which I bought on ebay by accident thinking it was Hardhead) and it looks just as awesome to me, so I went ahead and bought Hothead. I should have it on Tuesday.

Depends how vigilant in watching ebay you are. A completed listing search shows he has gone anywhere from $55 to $86 in the last couple of weeks. I managed to snag mine in a BIN for $37 shipped about a month or so ago.
