Logical repaints that did not happen...

My vote would be a repaint of Deluxe Unicron = Bludgeon

LOC Thundercracker as Starscream. Hell, if the Deluxe version's arm stayed in place, it woukd have made a decent Universe Starscream.

Conversely, LoC Starscream (cybertron version) as Thundercracker.

Movie Scorponok in BW Scorponok colors. (G1 Scorponok colors would not work with that mold.)

I actually refer to mine as Bludgeon. He just needs the horns on the helmet replaced with one of those V things they have on samurai helmets.

Is Seaspray one of the names Hasbro lost rights to? If not then Cyb Shortround could have been repainted to him.

How about Energon Downshift as Classics Wheeljack or Classics Starscream as Thundercracker (the Botcon version doesn't count).

Don't much think Downshift NEEDED a repaint to resemble Wheeljack :P

Same for saying Energon Inferno coulda made a good ironhide with a bit of remolding.

Well, that wouldn't be much of a repaint, since everything about the figure - even its color scheme - already pretty substantially resembles Wheeljack. Heck, the GF version is CALLED Wheeljack, so as far as I'm concerned he IS Classics Wheeljack. ;)

or Classics Starscream as Thundercracker (the Botcon version doesn't count).

Um...O.K. :?

Here's some repaints I would have done:

Beast Wars:
Megatron as G1 Grimlock

Armada:
Red Alert as Trailbreaker
Starscream as Jetfire (or Skyfire, if you prefer)
Skywarp/Universe Ramjet as Dirge/Thrust

Cybertron:
Starscream (GF/TRU Excl.) in G1 colors, also Thundercracker/Skywarp

Cybertron:
Runamuck as Runabout

Armada Tidalwave as Broadside
Energon Insection as Bombshell
Alternators Skids as Ironhide
Cybertron beast planet MEgatron as Grimlock

And of course, by Hasbros' logic, Cybertron Clocker repainted into every other Transformers character ever.

See, that's my problem with the fandom, right there, incarnite.

Energon Downshift for all intents and purposes IS WHEELJACK. How, in anyway would it be worth it to redeco him and call him Wheeljack?

Fans are never ever happy.

Whywhywhy?

Oh yes it does too count!

It counts and it's going to be sa-wee-ee-eet.

But that's a repaint and a line change, and including a repaint of a non-Classics line toy in the Classics line is just shaddy to me. Now, keep in mind I like Classics Devastator, so my hypocrisy knows no bounds.

What are you talking about fans are never happy? I'm happy right now, even without the Botcon set. So there.

You're right. I'm just putting up a happy facade to make it seem like not getting the Botcon set doesn't faze me. I'm crying on the inside. You saw through my disguise again Counterpunch.

Downshift may look like Wheeljack (or might even be Wheeljack in Japan), but he has too much green to him, whereas the original Wheeljack was mostly white and gray. Imagine how much better he would look with a simple repaint. As for my issue with the botcon Thundercracker, since I live outside the US, getting my hands one him would be extremely difficult and costly, whereas Starscream and Skywarp are more accessible.

Well, I am going to try to repaint some Classics Seekers over the summer to make up for the fact that I didn't get the set. Since I've never repainted on my own before, I figured why not start with what will be the most sought after set of exclusives probably of all time? No pressure there.

P.S.--->I'm certain they will look like ****!

Surely thats a complaint about the way Hasbro have chosen to distribute the figure rather than a lack of such a repaint existing? I don't see why it "doesn't count" as a repaint, or how a classics Thundercracker that received wider release would in any way be different in terms of appearance to the Botcon one, and could thus be counted as a different repaint to the one that "doesn't count"?

This thread has officially been derailed... Let's try to get it back on track...

I'm really disappointed in the lack of an LoC Nemesis Breaker. Seriously, even if he was a minor character, he was on the show, and they could have easily saved the LOC Sunstorm for the Classics Legends.

While we're on the subject, I'm surprised we didn't wind up with a Classics Sunstorm.

Here's one. What about the aerialbots made from the Energon Superion Combiner? That was an obvious one for the classics line. Guess theyre saving it for when classics starts up again

I love your optimism. I hope you're right, cos it'd save me tracking down and repainting the remaining limbs I need.

Actually, for the record, on the japanese version, everywhere you see that sickly green colour on him, they used gray/silver... so that pretty much takes care of the repainting...

Now I'm on board for Nemesis Primal's LoC Nemesis Breaker idea, I woulda loved to see that, since I found a way to attach him to Megatron/Galvatron as an arm.

Another logical repaint we didn't see (but I'd love to see) is upsizing the Perceptor repaint of CD Red Alert, I think as a large figure he's look f***in boss!

It's the only logical way to go, really. The Bruticus one from Energon doesn't look enough like G1 to make it work, and Superion/Devastator all have similar colour schemes which make them more attractive (where Bruticus' colour scheme differed from limb to limb because of his components). The aerialbots are a cert, definitely.

Better yet why not a re-release of the original? I wouldn't doubt they still have the molds.

Repaint Ruination as Bruticus Classic. Remold movie toys...no wait, different subject. :D
