Ever Find Hidden Transformers Before Christmas?

The title kind of says it all. Maybe you're a "kid" now or once were. In either situation, have you ever accidentally run across some new Transformers hidden away by your parents before Christmas? Then you think "oops...wasn't supposed to see that" but then you kept going back when your parents weren't around to marvel at them? What was the coolest one you came across?

I just came across some behind my mom's chair in her bedroom...sticking out of a Five Below bag. I found ROTF Bumblebee, Swerve, and Scalpel! :D

I found Overlord in my Mums wardrobe. It wasn't necessarily for Christmas, I think it was in fact for my fourteenth birthday, does that still count?

I was a snooper, I'll admit, and one year my mom hid all the presents in the trunk of her car under a sheet. After they went to bed one night, I snuck down to check out the presents, and found a Beast Wars Megatron and Optimus Prime. Instead of just marvelling though, I brought them upstairs, played with them, put them back in the boxes and in the car and made sure to act extra surprised on Xmas morning. I was a sneaky little thing >_>;

I never found any TFs hidden away, but I did once find an NES hidden in a garbage bag under my parent's bed while looking for the family cat. My mom claimed that it was "for someone else", but my brother and I knew differently... ;)

I don't know whether to be horrified and call you a terrible child or admit to being bloody impressed you got away with it!

Best I did was open up one end of a present just to confirm my suspicions. Yes, it was G1 Optimus Prime.

Why not be impressed with how terrible a child I was? :D

YEP! And you described it to a T. My mom had bought a TF, wrapped it and put it under the tree. I couldn't stop myself from shaking it, squeezing it, and generally molesting the package. After about two days I woke up late one night and brought it into my room. I peeled the tape really carefully on the end and saw it was a Dirge (g1 mind you, I'm an 80's kid). I put the tape back and then for about a week each night I began slowly opening the box, taking it out, playing with it until it just became one of my toys. I found out later it was for my cousin.

Sadly I can't say so, but Not for lack of trying mind you. Ultimately I now realize how dangerous and traumatizing it might have been if I had been bad enough to look through my parent's room though, as that's the one place I never went snooping. As it is currently though, our holidays involving presents have become pretty open as we basically know what we're getting ahead of time... mostly because of all the specifics involved nowadays.

Prepare for disappointment with Scalpel - they mostly break at the legs when you take them out of the box!

To answer your question, yes, I discovered my parent's hiding place back in the 80s. I can't remember if it was accidental or if I was snooping but I remember finding G1 Metroplex! After that I had to keep going back to marvel over the enourmous box and beautiful, beautiful artwork!

Back in 86 I found nearly the entire Movie cast in the back of my moms closet. Ultra Magnus, Rodimus Prime, Hot Rod, Blurr, Kup, Galvatron, Cyclonus and Gnaw.

I still remember wondering why they didn't get me an Arcee!

Mine was not a Christmas present, but a B-day present. I stumbled across G1 Shockwave for my 9th or 10th birthday at my Grandma's house. The weird thing was I didn't realize what it was when I saw it and at the same time I got caught. Imagine the surprise when I got to open it it......

Found G1 Metroplex under my mom's bed back in the day. Kinda by accident, kinda not... :P

Now that is a truly funny story! So what happened? Did your parents find out that it was missing, and buy him another, or did you only discover the truth years later?

A friend of my brother used to go into his parent's closet around Christmas time, open all the toys and play with them while his parents were at work... and he never got caught. Although, they did wonder why he never seemed very suprised on Christmas morning... :KREMZEEK:

Dammit dammit dammit! Why do I always buy the crap stuff and skip the good ones? :BOOM:

I never discovered TFs before Christmas, but once I walked into my parents' room to find a box of other toys, which I guess they had left out, not expecting me to go in there. There was a slot car set that year, pretty awesome.

Whether or not you found before you got, I'm all jealous at you.

When I was a child, I never received any gifts either on Christmas or birthday (family tradition I guess). Only time I expected getting gifts was when my dad came back from a business trip and most of the time they were not toys but stationeries (but I admit some of the pencil box were very fancy). I did remember there were couple years when I was very young, I really looked outside the window to see if there was any sleigh passing by.

Now since I broke this family tradition and spoiled my kids with Christmas and birthday gifts, this reminds me that I have to hide them well. Couple years ago I was stupid enough to open the closet to help my daughter find something but accidentally revealed her birthday presents.

There was one time, I think when I was in seventh grade, that my parents had gotten me one of the Cybertron TRU exclusive 3-packs. I was sure that they had gotten it for me, since it was something on my Christmas list, and I could tell from the distinctive shape of the present what it was, but then my cat stepped on the package and tore the wrapping paper, meaning I could see it a bit better. There were also a couple other times not involving Transformers. Once, I was in my basement looking for tree ornaments (my mom and I were decorating the tree), and I opened a box that had a Lego set in it. I never told them until years after. I think I might have been afraid they'd yell at me. Another year, I saw a bag under my mom's desk that was very poorly hidden that had an easily visible Lego set in it.

Oh yeah. They're never very clever with hiding the Lego sets at my house. They're so easy to just run across. Once I even found the receipt from a Christmas Lego order in a random place in my basement, which had the Bionicle Toa Mahri collection on it. Best Lego Christmas ever.

Just the other day I was looking through my mommy's drawer and I think I stumbled upon one of my x-mas gifts...but then I heard her coming up the stairs so I had to bail. It looked pretty cool from what I saw of it, though. It looked like a chromed out rocket or something! Can't wait to see what the bot mode is... :KREMZEEK:

I was born in the nineties and were not into BW at all, so my mother and father used to buy me big lots of G1's for christmas. One evening when I was in the basement searching for my brothers vintage SW figures I stumbled upon a box of G1's stacked away with a complete Scorponok, Ultra Magnus, etc. Awesome christmas!

Um. Ew. Am I the only one that got that?

Wow, both of your parents are bad at this.

That's sad that your parents never got you gifts. :( I'm glad you broke the tradition for your kids.

And now I bought Christmas gift for myself, too. This year, I will have a Lego Creator set that I bought two years ago when it was on sale. :???:

Nice. Yeah, I often buy stuff for myself around Christmas too. I feel kinda guilty, but whatever, I'm old enough to enjoy my money.
