I'm just curious about how much he actually wants to sell it for

That's it, I'm undercutting this guy.
I'll sell you guys one just like that, AND I'll throw in a VINTAGE G1 version all for $3500.

Maybe he listed it and realized he could sell it elsewhere so a ridiculous price was put in place so it wouldn't sell.

That sounds like a legally binding contract... SOLD!
I will accept payment in the form of Trident Layers.

BWAHAHAHA! That would be a LOT of gum.
I saw this the other day too. I was checking the going rate because some local fool returned a Classics CJ on a Universe Ironhide card, and I was laughing about how he could've got more for it on eBay.

I think there's a few of reasons for this:
1. eBay is having free listings no matter what the starting price is right now.
2. The seller might be trying to pump up his feedback rating, listing it at a ridiculous high price let his friends bid then leave positive feedback.
3. he's really is wracked and really think someone will pay that much for it.
and if someone does buy it at that price, it's time to sell the ones that I kept MOSC!

I think option 3 is the likely winner. It's a buy it now so there are no bids and you can only leave feedback if you actually buy it. Then he still has to pay final value fees which at that price has to be several hundred dollars.

I just checked my ebay and noticed that the bid had ended. Who ever was running the bid had changed the price to a buy it now of 29.99 (still too much in my opinion). I guess he found this site and saw our posts.....
