Transformers Prime Toys?

I know WikiPedia isnt an entirely trustworthy source for news, but I was reading it for the cast listings on Transformers: Prime and it said that toys for the series have been confirmed as in the pipeline from Hasbro. Is this true? Cuz I need me a Cliffjumper (he's the effing Rock!)

I seem to recall reading somewhere that Hasbro said they DON'T intend to make figures for the series. I could be wrong about that. Even if they DID say that, I doubt it's true. I can't imagine they'd launch a new TF series ON THEIR NEW FLAGSHIP NETWORK and not support it with a line of toys. It's also an interesting situation because originally the cartoon was created to promote the toys. Every TV series they've made so far has been in support of a toy line, so I can't believe they'd break from that.

My thinking is entirely in-line with yours, Guy. It boggles me that we haven't seen any toys announced yet. And, for me at least, the scariest part of the last few years is that TF toys are getting so good that I can hardly bear to pass up on most of them. Like I already have a list of constraints I am trying to stick to and then they announce Prime and show us designs and I am just so behind the aesthetic that I really want toys for it (but, then again, Hasbro has a track-record of NOT giving me toys of things I want... like Animated Omega Supreme).
Also, am i the only person who would be perfectly happy if they never made a toy above Voyager/Ultra sized again? I mean, I find all the best toys are in that range outside of myabe the Masterpieces.

I heard we'll have to wait until late 2011 or early 2012 for the toys, but I could be wrong.
And it does seem odd that Hasbro wouldn't announce a new toyline for a new series, although more recently it seems to be a growing trend that Hasbro puts the tv series and video game lines on the backburner even though most kids will probably want the characters from the show/game. There was a good portion of characters left out from Animated, and the War for Cybertron video game is only getting FIVE toys out of about forty characters.
This might all be due to the movie universe being the main focus of Hasbro's work since 2007, so tv show lines aren't the giant booming toylines they used to be, but I still don't understand why they use other media to promote the brand but they don't make the exact stuff they promote in that media.

Focus will be Dark of the Moon.
Plus depending on ratings for Prime, if good, toys could start coming 2012 for season 3
followed or in conjunction with WFC toys.
Need new lines as "Classic" (season 1 G1) characters are running thin...
unrelated:
Now that Animated is "dead:"
Do i say I smell Animated molds for the next botcon?

The Prime characters are the WFC characters, so does the upcoming Cliffjumper retool of WFC Bumblebee satisfy your wants?

Transformers: Prime is getting toys. It was in a recent Q&A.

If they use animated molds for BotCon then I will have to get a non-attending package AND shell out over-expensive prices for the attendee figures... I can hardly see Animated BotCon toys going awry, especially since they've already shown that they are willing to bring Derrick Wyatt onboard for the Club Animated "transtech" Cheetor (which I am hyped for even though i am not huge on Cheetor or the Blurr mold, I jsut absolutely love the animated reinterpretations of all the universe)
I mean, I love classics too, but really only for the new molds and not the "force-fed to us" versions of like Weirdwolf and such from that BotCon set and I have no need for the G2 set either, though I want Clench a fair amount. Totally bummed that I have been phenomenally broke this past year. I missed out on so much of Animated and Classics... the two lines that have done the best to psych me up in forever (though I do have a strong love for the movie-verse too.)

Has that ever been concretely stated? Because it really doesn't seem like it to me.
And furthermore, no the WFC Bumblebee retool does not bloodyfcuking satisfy my wants. He is not a musclecar with horns on the hood and his head is all wrong and he has the absolute wrong proportions to even remotely look like the Prime character.
Hell the proportions and faces alone are strong evidence against them being from the same continuity as WFC at all.

I can't see Prime toys working. Arcee doesn't have wheels anywhere on her bot mode and they should be pretty prominent. Cliffjumper's alt mode is mostly flat edges, but his bot mode is mostly rounded.

Im certain some engineering compromises would be made, like they did with the movie-verse designs. None of them are quite screen accurate and they use a lot of cheats to get good approximations.

I won't be buying any TF prime toys. as I'm not a fan of the cartoon art design. So,i'm in no rush to see these Prime toys arrive in stores.
Anyways i'm far more concerned with getting the generations/reveal the shield & MP Rodimus Prime toys
I seperate the TF fiction & TF toys right down the middle.
For me,it's possible to enjoy the TF fiction & not want the TF toys & vice versa
Examples:
(1) I'm not a fan of those TF Prime cartoon designs. I probably won't be buying the "TF Prime toys" I will most likely watch the TF Prime cartoon for the stories & character development.
(2) I love the live action TF Movie toys. I really dis-like the Live action TF movies.

That's what they said about Animated. Don't worry.. it's the 21st century.. toy engineers are pretty damn good.

I don't doubt their abilities. What concerns me is that the details on the robots don't match the details on the vehicles. I think they'll have to make some serious alterations to the designs or resort to shellforming to make them work.
