I'm sure this has been asked before (sorry I cant find the topic post), but I am wondering why I'm having such a hard time finding Terradvie and Tommahwk. I want these two, but I don't wan't to spend the 60+ bucks that Amazon is asking for them. Any suggestions?

I have no idea, dude. I've been having the same problem. I've looked everywhere I could, and no store has either of them. When were they supposed to be released?

It can only be your location. I found none in Michigan and just moved to Iowa, found them several places. It's seriously a Tf wonderland in the Cedar Rapids area.

I found them both a while ago. Terradive is all that and a bag of chips...Tomahawk was a disappointment. I'm tired of chickenformers...

I'm sure both will be available on the Hasbro site again soon enough.

It's definitely your location, I see them both regularly at several stores here.

If you haven't seen them yet in your local stores, I would just buy them online before they get lost in the holiday shuffle.

Terradive
http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.js ... d=10860220

Tomahawk
http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.js ... d=10860219

The price you pay for shipping will more than pay for the amount of time spent looking for the figures (time = money) as well as gas spent driving around.

There are two factors here:
1. Location- If your local stores are like mine, they get the first wave late, don't restock it, and you suffer a drought until the Christmas season. The stores simply haven't even received the figures, while many others brag in your face about their TF wonderlands. This is the best time to order online from either hasbrotoyshop.com, bigbadtoystore.com, toysrus.com, or kmart.com to get them for retail price before they skyrocket.
2. Sales based on local buyers- You might be unlucky enough to live in an area with some guys with too much dough that shop around from time to time to find the new products, buy all of them, then turn around and sell them for at least twice retail on ebay. There's a guy that does this at my local TRU with the new Hot Wheels stocks; buys up all the popular ones and leaves all the crappy ones. In this case, you just have to be lucky and try to get them first, but timing is very difficult to get right.
3. Popularity- This somewhat ties in with the last one. The figures are simply very popular in your area and get nabbed quickly. The reason why luck is important. Just gotta be at the right place at the right time.

Bragging, seriously?

I moved from an area that was so lacking on product that it was saddening for such a long time collector. I have trouble believing that nowhere('cept maybe the UK) has worse distribution than Michigan for TF and other collectable toys.
You guys out there have my condolences, it's terrible, and I only did it for 2 years. If i was lucky enough to find something like MP Skywarp there would be only one and would almost have to buy it or face having to get it online at inflated prices.

Moving to the Cedar rapids area was eye popping for TFs. So far in two weeks time I have run into Fury of Bonecrusher, Starscreams Assault, HA Shadow Blade Sideswipe, PCC 5 packs of Destrons and Protectobots, newer waves of PCC commanders, kmart xclusv
legend 5 pack, Terradive and Tomahawk. Actually was able to get an Animated Ironhide, never seen him in store before. All of these would have taken forever to show up, if at all in Michigan.

Also the economy out in MI is so bad that the Kmarts are closing so those exclusives were not possible without getting off their site, which is a joke. They will send you an email saying items not in stock(even though they are listed in stock on their site) only to have them charge your credit card a month later out of the blue and use such terrible shipping methods it will look like a 4 year old packed it.

Wal mart is totally losing the T'formers race this year.. So far I have bought 1 figure from them since I got back from botcon.. The rest I have found at TRU and Target..target has especially been on the ball. Constantly having the newest waves in stock. Tomahawk and Terradive have just recently started popping up..

On a side note I went into a local grocery store today just to check to see if they had some of the newest scouts and low and behold...Dirge and Blurr!!!! They of course were not in their system yet I managed to score em both.. Sometimes checking that one off the wall location is the best bet..

Maybe try posting in the buy sell and trade forums..Maybe some one here has a extra one they can sell ya..I know I always try and grab extras and help out my fellow seibertroianians!

Thanks for all of the responses. I'll put a boost in my patience and wait a little while longer, or maybe I'll just check ToysRus.com.

They only just showed up in my area, because all the Wave 1 & 2 stuff is warming the shelves like crazy. They always overstock the first couple waves.

Yes, seriously.

And yeah Kmart is doing pretty bad. They used to be the best store for all toys in my whole county until about 2005. I've also heard about the Kmart troubles. I would recommend (if the option is available to you) to use the in-store pickup instead of having it shipped to you.

I have yet to see them either. Wave one made its appearance in the area and I have seen wave two once(I bought them all). Walmart is still plagued with the wave one Dirge repaint and Ironhides. Generations wave two made it to my local Walmarts but wave one is still the shelf warmer. Haven't even received wave two of the two pack PCC's. Toys R Us just got wave two of generations yesterday, no wave two HFTD. Animated still warms their shelves.

Based on the sightings in Michigan, I'm not sure it's as doom and gloom there as you make it sound. I was originally from Michigan (moved from there in 2002 to Chicago) but never had a problem finding new stuff prior to moving.

What state do you live in? Do you use the sightings section for your state or the primary sightings section on seibertron.com that lists out the items by series?

I was living in the Kalamazoo/Portage area, it seriously was a dismal area for Transformers. Product moved slowly and just sat on the shelves, I thought I must have been the only only one in the area buying some of that stuff. Due to that the restocks were few and far between, and restocks only came after the clearance stuff sold. The Walmart on the nothwest side of Kalamazoo was about the only decent place to find any store exclusives and I didn't get out that way too often.
I would constantly check stores in Portage on the weekdays, because I worked out that way and on the weekends I would check out the stores in Three Rivers, constantly finding nothing I would be interested in.
The 2 Kmarts in the area, one in Portage and the one in Kalamazoo both closed day after Valentines day leaving no Kmart access unless I wanted to go to Elkhart, that was not an idea of a fun time.
There is a TRU in Portage but they were extemely hit or miss. I used to live on the Wi/IL border and would get a chance to get to the Gurnee TRU quite a bit, that's not a bad store, niether was the TRU in Racine,WI which I would frequent. Being in so many locations in such a short time has benefited me with the knowledge that some areas definately are better than others.

Those guys just got to my area this week and I've only found them at one store (Wal-Mart). I'm sure they'll turn up in other places.

Oh, Terradive is friggin' awesome. Best TF I've bought since Bludgeon. Tomahawk is a bit of a disappointment, though. Whassup with those feet???

I have seen them more recently at K-Marts down here. Although I bought my Tomahawk at Wal mart after I pulled him out the box off the pallet.

Here's the link to the last page of the North Carolina thread. I'm sure everyone there will be more than happy to help you find the figures you are searching for.
