Classics Legends disappointment

I'm not disappointed with the figures themselves, just some of the character choices. Poor Brawn, Beachcomber, Cosmos, Warpath, upcoming Trailbreaker, and even Wheelie. I'm seems like such notable characters would have merited at least deluxe class figures. I know there are a lot of financial and business factors that come into play on Has/Tak's side, but I'm still bummed. How awesome would a voyager Warpath have been or deluxe Trailbreaker with an automatic Hoist repaint. Maybe before it's all said and done they will still get some large scale love.

I know, it seems like all the good characters get dumped into the "for legends class only" bin.

While larger figures of some characters would be nice, you have to remember the g1 figures of those characters were for all intents and purposes legends class themselves. People did complain when they made Powerglide an ultra class figure.

I realize that, but it didn't stop them from upscaling Bumblebee, Cliffjumper, Seaspray, and as you mentioned Powerglide. Not to mention Trailbreaker actually got downscaled. Guess you can't get everything you want.

That is true indeed. Bumblebee has been whored out so much in the last few years that I tend to forget that he was a minibot in G1. I agree that Trailbreaker got a bum deal in being a legends class.

Yeah, Trailbreaker or Trailcutter as he's known these days is a real disappointment. He seems like one they would really want to do as a deluxe. They seem to really be focusing on rounding out the original cast in Classics 3.0 and he would have a no-brainer repaint that fans would buy without hesitation.

There were similar complaints when they made Jazz a legends toy for Universe 2.0. Now we're getting him as a deluxe.

We'll probably be seeing at least some of these characters again in a couple of years as deluxes.

The other option could just be instead of having them as Legends class, they could be upped a tad to Scout class. I think that fans on both sides of the fence could live with the various mini-bots as that size.

But on the other hand it's good news for people who can only afford Legends. Starscream and Onslaught have appeared in two classes so maybe they'll get their love in future Classics incarnations.

That's a good point. :D

Like what they are doing with Windcharger? I could live with that, at least they would good articulation at that scale.

I am more disappointed with their choice of characters for the current Legends wave.

I already have a Prime, Megs, Starscream and Prowl in deluxe size, so I'm not getting them.
Trailbreaker is way too small, so I'm not getting him.

That leaves Goldbug, which I'm suitible happy for

I just think that if they continued the tradition of making new legends figures, we could've completed the minibots collection by now.

So well, saves me some money.

I'm happy with them overall. I like that they're the same scale as their G1 versions. I do like the upcoming Scout-class Windcharger, however, and wouldn't mind seeing more of those.

But after purchasing him, I was a little disappointed with Voyager SeaSpray. It's just so far removed from the original it's really no more than a homage, and I'd rather have a new Legends-class SeaSpray.

Yeah, that's what Classics and Classics 2.0 were missing, the Scout Class. I'd love to see Cosmos (again), Gears, Warpath (yet again), Pipes, the Throttlebots, and the G2 Autobot cars.

I hate Legends. Really, really hate them. They seem like such a waste to me.

Oh, so your saying their like "previews" of the future? I never noticed that there was a theme going on here.
Hmm...accurate voyager G1 Megatron and voyager G1 Optimus Prime (with trailer) perhaps? That would be great. And then they could use the Prime mold, repaint it, give it a new trailer to combine with, and call it ULTRA MAGNUS.

I kind of agree. I only have a handful, the previously mentioned Classics charters, first movie Scorponok, and ROTF Ravage. The last two just for scale purposes.

I don't own any Legends myself, but that's more a case of missing out on ones I had any interest in. I'm a little hard pressed to see the upcoming ones as anything more than novelties, but I might pick up a few of them anyway. The lack of articulation may be a more valid disappointment, but at least they're not bricks... well, a few of them anyway. As for scale, I'm sorry to have to keep pushing this but I gave up on scale issues when I realized that, in general, there will be no overall satisfying scale for everyone's tastes. People will complain that Powerglide and Seaspray should be smaller, or the scouts and legends should be bigger, or Megatron as a gun is ridiculous, or that Broadside defies existence. So I give up, I'm going to buy legends Trailcutter and he will be my Neo-G1 Trailbreaker.

Weren't legends toys made so people who couldn't afford the larger Transformers can have their Starscream, Megatron, etc?

You're all complaining about that? Wow. To hell with those who earn less than you, eh?

I don't think that's their attitude. I think they just forgot about the children for whom these toys are designed for!

I can't be dissatisfied with legends class G1, I just can't. These new G1 style figures are long over due, I gladly await even more legends class figures from any era(really would like g1 accurate Jetfire & some Beast Wars). All these guys are one size and that size, to me at least, represents a figure that has reached a certain status in the genre.
I don't get these just to fill a gap in my collection, but I can see how some would because everybody collects in a different way. Let's stop being so mad/disappointed at a toy company because they don't always make the characters we want right now.

People here see a legends toy of someone who wasn't originally a small bot, and they go "I'm disappointed," "what a waste", "I already have deluxe Prime, so I'm not getting him".

What exactly makes these people think HasTak only have them in mind when they were making these children's toys?

It's a lack of patience and the need for instant gratification. Hasbro has been really good about proliferating transformers especially as a hobby and not just another toy. You can't please everybody. I'm just happy someone is making these, cause i can't.

Lack of patience? This is the first Trailbreaker they've made in over 25 years. I'm fine with legends class figures for what they are, cheaper versions of the characters. I just hate to see G1 fan favorites
get relegated down to poorly acticulated legends class figures. Like others have pointed out just because some characters only have legends figures now doesn't mean they won't get larger class figures in the future as was the case with Jazz. I realize they don't just make figures to please me and my fellow adult collectors. I'm fine with Bumberbattlers, Fastaction Battlers, Activators, Robot Heroes, Gravitybots, and all the other lines they do for younger fans. They don't appeal to me, but as I stated before I understand it's not all about adult collectors.

I understand what you're saying, and I wouldn't mind a Classics/ generations deluxe Trailbreaker, but if it means having to support him through a legends class I am fine with that. With the way I am collecting now anyway I want a smaller size with lots of options. Space is a growing issue for me currently and until I moved I hadn't realized
how much room my collection encompased.
If I can have a reprentation of favorite characters w/ an accurate robot mode and alt mode, at the time, articulation is something I will give up.
Like I said everybody collects differntly and you as well are entiteled to that, but being dissapointed in something that may only be the begining of something better is really short sighted.

I love that we are getting G1 looking transformers in any size. Awesome stuff. I am upset out the distribution of them. I never saw ANY Beachcombers, Warpaths, Cosmos, or Wheelies at retail. They came out right before the ROTF toys came out and I guess many stores didn't buy them. Frustrating. I hope that I get to see Prime, Starscream, Megatron, and Trailbreaker in a store so I can buy them. The will be great for my desk at work.
