The colours don't work on the cab. Why have they added blue? The spindly wrists don't look good. At first I was underwhelmed, now I'm outright uninterested.

Hmmm.... not feeling G2 prime, crappy colours... lame alt truck....why does his head look like ROTF Jolt?! Needs RID Scourge repaint NOW.

Scourge looks good! Apart from blue eyes and dodgy Jetblade/Dirge feet...

I admit, I'm a bit underwhelmed now that I see G2 Prime here. He just looks so plain and unpainted in robot mode. I'm not completely turned off though, I figure a few paint touch ups will do him wonders once I get him. Besides, he's got all the perfect articulation for wielding his sword, which mounts in a scabbard on his back! I mean who doesn't like a sword wielding Prime?

BTW, is anyone else noticing the matrix design in his chest?

There's not much to say about Generations G2 OP that hasn't been said before in this thread...
The colors are terrible all round. I don't mind the flames in the alt mode, but the blue cab with the black hood just looks bad. I also hate the light grey torso and thighs in 'bot mode. Also, the spindly hands and arms, as well as the (IMO) feminine thighs look awful in this version. I even don't like the way his head looks.

Strangely enough, I do still have the hope that the inevitable repaint, hopefully as G2 Scourge, will look better than this does, because in my opinion a lot of the problems could be solved by changing the colors.

Anyhow, I'm glad I finally broke down a couple of weeks ago and bought an original MISB G2 Laser Rod OP for a fair price.

Honestly dont like him. Maybe he will go with the Redux set but he will be so small. Plus he is screaming "movie Prime".

That's true. The head on this isn't really all that G2-y.

He's... little!

Honestly, repaint him like Optimus in Transformers Prime and you're good to go. He has that whole windshield chest down.

I was liking him, but not if Hot Rod is just as big as he is.

The G2 prime really need a recolour preferable as Rid Scourge but with a remolded head he could prob become a nice motormaster with those shoulders.

Prime looks crap - why they couldn't just repackage the original Laser Rod in a new colour sceme without the trailer is beyond me.

I'd pay £30 retail for that any day.

I like the artiulation but not at the expence of everything else. With his arms raise above his head, he looks so awkward. I'll pick him up, but he won't be an OP in my collection.

Target will release a Menasor versus Hot Zone (Motormaster and Hot Spot) 2-pack next year, which are repaints/remolds of Generations G2 Optimus Prime and Universe Inferno. It will be great.

The RID Scourge repaint of Generations G2 Optimus Prime will be the SDCC Transformers exclusive for 2011.

You saw it here first.

I just saw this today... like about 5 days later. I never even saw it on the front page that day. Anyway...

Now that I can see his head, I don't exactly like the sculpt. Otherwise, a perfect reincarnation of a G2 favorite. I doubt Hasbro will turn down a G2 Megatron mold. Then again, they've proven me wrong again and again, so anything's possible. ;)
