Right, I've fallen in that MUST HAVE thing (lust? need? WAAAAANT?) for Skyfire. But, money is tight here in failwarpia, so I'm asking y'all for advice and knowledge.

If you could only get ONE Skyfire figure, what would it be and why?

Classics. The paint apps are less stale than those on the Henkei version.

I have to agree with G1 Jetfire. I have a bunch of Jetfire/Skyfire figures, and none of them hold a candle to good ol' G1 Jetfire. Just be careful about the yellowing problem. I've had mine for years and haven't had any problems though.

Classics/Henkei.

G1 is just a Bandai Valkyrie repaint from Macross. If you like Macross Valkyries you'll be better off getting a 1/60 Yamato figure.

Yeah, kind of agree. I will go with the classics one which is what I have also.

G1 Jetfire is the first one to get.

I have the Classics Jetfire, but I like the paint apps on the Henkei version better because they are more G1-accurate.

G1 Jetfire is one of the best TF toys ever, but he's really not much of a Skyfire. If you want Skyfire, I think the Henkei Skyfire is the best representation of that. Classics Jetfire is good, too, but I think the Henkei canopy looks more Skyfire-ish. I only have the Classics one, so I'm only going on picture, tho.

At Botcon I picked up a Henkei and sold my Classics, I just liked the more Skyfire-like paintjob, especially in bot mode.

I have him staning in front of my G1. Makes the both of them look that much better!

G1 Skyfire has been on my wish list for a very long time, One day, one day!

Classics, without a doubt. The G1 version would be extremely expensive, and the Henkei version has, in my opinion, quite ugly paint apps. I just hate the fake "cockpit" painted behind the actual cockpit.

Henkei, because it's white instead of sorta white. The red is vibrant opposed to the dull red on Classics. The battle helmet visor is red which homages the G1 Jetfire. If G1 Skyfire/Jetfire is your thing, he's the closest we've gotten as a representation of that character. If money is tight, Classics will also work just fine. They're both great but there is a clear winner as far as the homage goes.

Without a doubt:

R-Blade=/=Jetfire. Nice figure though, I've got that one.

Henkei Skyfire is probably the most definitive form of the G1 cartoon character outside of making a custom version.

G1 Jetfire, the others are no match.

However, Classics is good, too, until you get the G1.

I have the Super Valkyrie G1 Skyfire (Jetfire) was based off of. I also have Classics Jetfire (why couldn't they call him Autobot Skyfire, or Air Commander Skyfire). Classics wins easy, unless you want to pay for a Masterpiece Super Valkyrie to match the original Jetfire toy. What I love about Classics Jetfire is his cartoon head under his toy based helmet, as well as his wings folding up instead of down. I only wish the boosters on the back could slide together to make the homage spot on for both the animation model and the original toy.

I use Energon Skyblast as Skyfire, keeping them as 2 separate characters.

I'm still not 100% on who Armada Jetfire is.

Odd, Craggy... I'd have Classics Jetfire as Skyfire, and a Valkyrie as Jetfire, meself, to keep the names and appearances as they were 25 years ago, myself.

I think it's that Jetfire (the toy) had the armour, while Skyfire (the cartoon/comic character) didn't. Plus, Jetfire is the name given most prominence lately, so the bigger (and also better) figure goes to him. I don't have a Valkyrie so Classics is the closest I have. I think Skyblast looks quite like the Skyfire model.

I'd go with Classics personally!
Best reason is that you can combine him with you classics prime to make a Skyfire Prime. Very cool. So you get two toys in one if you have a Classics voyager Prime.

I tried this and added all 4 Powermaster Prime guns to the completed pseudo combination. It looked pretty cool, but something about the head placement at the top being too off for my eyes to fully accept as kept me from trying it again.
