EmGo Reviews Hasbro's Generations Scourge

Popular Transformers reviewer and self declared Freakin' Geek Emgo has posted a new, YouTube video review for Hasbro's upcoming Generations Decepticon Scourge. His review of this deluxe class figure give us a great look at both robot and (relatively kibble-free) flying wing alt mode, our first look at the complete transformation, and show's off the figure's articulation. Also revealed is what appears to be an updated "peek-a-boo" feature that reveals Scourge's face in his alt mode. This figure will be part of Hasbro's Generations 2011 series 2 and is expected to be released some time in early 2011.

Check out his original post HERE.

Much better overall figure than I originally expected. I definitely see a Sweeps army in my future.

Amazing, there isnt any part that does fold, rotate, expand or do something. Hasbro, please get the person who designed this to design more. Its awesome, it needs some sort of award... can we get it some sort of award please?

Not one friggin' thing wrong with him!!!! Outstanding!!! I especially love how the arms transform! When he mentioned the weapons, I was like "I guess he never came with him.", but when he touched the wings, I was like "No way..." and he opened and BAM! there they were! I was like "HOLY **** THAT IS AMAZING!!!!!". If there was a poll for Top 10 toys of 2011, Scourge would be #1! ;) :BOOM: Please don't tell me he's coming out in the spring.... I can't wait that long..... :BANG_HEAD: :BANG_HEAD: :BANG_HEAD:

Looks great !!! Im very pleased that you can tilt the wings downward and open them up to give him that G1 look. I will buy 3 for a Sweeps army and maybe the Henkei version to represent Scourge the leader.

EmGo does great reviews. I just wish he would drop the title "freakin geek" because it adds to the false stereotype about Transformers fans. This aint the 90's. Cool people collect Transformers too. I was shocked to see a few fine girls at Botcon in Orlando. I met this one hot chick with an autobot tattoo on her back, real friendly. Yeah I saw a few geeks with pants pulled up to their chest and taped glasses. But they were in the minority. Anyways no disrespect, just my opinion.

With some modding, you could mod this into a pretty cool Bat Wing transformer. I still love the one that was done with animated Blur for the Bat Mobile.

I'm so glad to see that they've done as good a job with Scourge as they did with Cyclonus. Looks perfect with some really nice touches. Bring on 2011 when I can add him to my collection! :CON:

Looks very cool. Love the arm transformation, love the fact he has no under kibble. Love the fact the plane mode is very much part of the robot mode. Not like other TF's we've had where you could detach the plane, and still have both a fully functional robot, and a fully functional plane.

The combined gun is not the best, but its nice he can hold them separately.

I'll likely pick him up, and whatever repaint Hasbro decides to do.

I'm loving the look of this Scourge I do wonder who the designer was. Up until now I think Mirage was one of my favorites with posability and compactness of form but this might replace that for me.

Alt mode will take some gettin used to, but that bot mode is the selling point for this self professed tf geek (I may not like the stigma, but it's what I am). Just kills me that I wasted so much money on the Botcon iteration. Oh well, I've spent money on more frivolous stuff before (several movie dates come to mind). Here's to hoping there's enough to go around. If they can, at least three wave revision releases for pure saturation please.

I knew he'd be good but, crikey, that toy blows the Titanium version out of the water. I still love the Botcon version (weirdly, I often appreciate a clever repaint/remould more than an entirely new figure!) but this alt-mode is beautiful, and the combination of a spot-on robot mode and a re-imagined alt really works for me. Plus, anything's better than a robot hiding in a space-shoe...

Excellent figure!! That transformation is VERY impressive.I'm a fan of how the arms transform in particular. Fantastic engineering there and all still keeping true to a G1 aesthetic.
I agree that whoever designed this figure should get a pat on the back or some kind of recognition for a job well done.

Excellent toy and review! Hasbro really nailed this one. I had a feeling this was going to be a great homage to the G1 character from the start. This is coming from a guy who never liked the character to begin with.

So....when all is said and done, any further objections? :P

I am impressed, I think that when I get one, I'll be continuing the blue line from the front of his vehicle mode to the joining areas along his wings, maybe painting his eyes red, too... but other than that it looks fantastic.
