Protectobot variant question

Need some assistance guys, tried to research this but to no avail. Tried this but no info http://www.reocities.com/futuristgroup/vquanda.html

At the tail end of G1, was there ever a time(including the Classics G1 gold box ed) that the Protectobots were ever issued without their rub signs?

IIRC I remember Hasbro/Hasbro Europe/GIG still sold TFs, including the G1 that previously had the rub symbol transitioned to ones without. Just need confirmation.

I had a full set of Protectobots as a kid. None of those limbs have a rub sign.

Ebay has one on sale MOSC and that is also lacking a rub sign.

As far as I know, the 1991 European reissue don't have the rubsigns, while the original releases did. The one on EBay is a reissue, recognisable on the gold backing card and the 90's logo. The only variants in the original runs were materials-based.

The article on this ozzie site, seems to think they were removed and the article about the Euro-Classics on the TFwiki makes mention of the lightbar on Streetwise being retooled if that makes any difference to you.

:APPLAUSE: @ Amelie,JZGR and PSW. Thanks for the input. I'm currently planning to buy what seems to be loose but genuine Protectobots. Only they had no rubsigns....so these are legit then. Thanks a million!

Remember - the UK Classics have these distinct properties, should my memory not be totally faulty -

Streetwise - solid police lights. Metal parts.
Groove - Metal parts.
First Aid - No metal
Blades - No metal
