How would you rate it compared to the City Commander Set? If I love my City Commander, how bad do I want Protector?

I wont have mine until after Christmas!

Got mine yesterday by far the best add on from FP. Compared to the city commander i would give it a 10 out of 10 a must have your cc will thank you.

KNOOM842, do you mean that it's better than the City Commander? Or really good when displayed next to it? Or both?

I have the Shadow Commander armor instead of the City Commander Armor...so my opinion is based on that. Basically, I think the Protector Armor is better. It's a lot less bulky (I think the SC Armor was almost TOO bulky). It also fits the character more than their CC Armor fits with Ultra Magnus' character. I think it's definitely worth the money, but I wouldn't call it the best add on set FP has produced. That honor goes to the Crossifre 02 set. It's going to be REALLY hard to top that.

Still, I don't regret buying the Protector armor at all and would do it again in a heart beat. I have a collection of about 1200 figures (domestic releases, 3rd party figures/add ons, foreign TF's, as well as many "exclusive figures). I can say that, while FP Bruticus is the centerpiece of my collection, Protector is a really close third (second goes to MP Black Convoy).

Agreed. That is most definitely the best add on set i own to date. It should make Bruticus the transformer figure of the year in my opinion.

I don't own the Protector set mainly because it just doesn't look like Rodimus Prime to me.
CC looks like the Ultra Magnus that we all know and love ,albeit a lttle bulky, and Crossfire 2 makes Bruticus G1 accurate.

FP really went above and beyond with Crossfire 2. To make a complete piece of toy garbage like Bruticus Maximus and turn it into ,IMO, what qualifies as a masterpiece Bruticus is quite a feat.

I intercepted the UPS guy on the way to work this afternoon so the Protector came to work with me. Now I'm glad I decided to throw the Battle in Space set in with my order at the last minute! Had some off color Rodimus goodness when I finally went on break!

The armor, yes. The figure to mount it on, no. Still waiting to see if I got it for Xmas, or it I will have to buy it myself.

But even without Rodimus, I can tell that the armor is awesome. As is the turret, which makes up most of the trailer. Plus the Roller is a nice touch.

Check this out- I had to leave for a minute to do something for my landlord and when I came back, I had the UPS note on my door. Now I gotta wait til tomorrow, and I got stuff to do most of the day. I don't wanna leave the house....

Mine was waiting on my doorstep when I got back from my mom's house. Weird how they didn't do that yesterday, but nevertheless, I got it and love it.......

Protector is incredible! FP has made 3rd party Transformer add-ons an art. My recommendation is to buy it as soon as possible along with the Targetmaster. I don't see how anyone can be truly disappointed (although I'm sure there will be some nitpickers since FP is on such a high pedestal).
