My in-laws are supposedly giving me Skullgrin and Thunderwing. And my wonderful wife grabbed me the Battle in Space set.

Unfortunately I'm not, mainly because I already have everything I want that's at retail and any vintage stuff I need would be too expensive to ask anyone to buy for me. Not to mention the knowledge they would need to make sure they got the right thing and didn't get ripped off.

I specifically told everyone not to get me Transformers as I have all I want either on preorder or on my shelves.

I usually get two or three a year at Christmas, usually a mix of vintage G1 and a new one. Last year was cool because I got G1 Wreck-Gar and Motormaster (Motormaster was missing his accessories, but it was in superb condition).
My mother usually asks if I've seen a couple on Ebay and asks me to email them to my brother so if I do get any TFs its always a surprise.
This may actually be the first year since 1988 that I don't get a Transformer at Christmas, thanks to the postal disruptions - my family are unwilling to risk anything not arriving on time for Chrimbo.
Best toy I got as an adult for Christmas was Armada Starscream - that figure is awesome. Closely followed by R.I.D Megatron, which I still think is a fantastic toy.

I'm getting a pile, but it's stuff I probably woulda got most of anyhow. Mostly I just spent so much recently I told my wife not to get me anything and I'd wait to open them all I bought in the last couple months. Protector is part of the haul so I can't wait for it (Christmas) to get here.

Nobody I know would know what Transformers to get me for Christmas. Besides it would be nearly impossible because I buy everything I want for myself.

Yeah I'm pretty sure that if I told my in-laws I wanted a G1 Dai Atlas I would probably end up with a Rand McNally Atlas under the tree.

I don't expect any TFs for Christmas from the 'fam. They'd have NO idea what to get me.
But, my Mom got me the "Warman's Transformers Field Guide" last year (yeah, she's cool like dat.) So who knows? I might get something cool!

I don't ask for Transformers, simply because I know what I want, and it's just easier to get it myself rather than tell my family and let them guess that they're getting the right thing. In terms of mass retail, I'd just rather not let them try to figure out which of those figures sitting on the pegs is the one I want - RotF vs. HftD vs. RtS vs. Generations, Scout vs. Deluxe vs. Legends. And as for online, the ones I want are pretty much budget breakers, so I'll spend my own money on those.
However, I do ask for gift cards from the relatives for whom gift cards are easier to purchase. I ask for them from the likes of Target, so I know I'll have Transformer money down the road for a month or two. So in a way I guess I kinda am getting Transformers.

I bought myself some TFs for XMas, just as I did the past two years. I ordered Highbrow, Jazz, and Turbo Tracks from HTS.com, but I left them sealed in the box and I'll open them on Xmas eve or day. I don't think I'll ever outgrow the joy of opening a new toy on Christmas.
