Galvatron Toy moan.....

Does anyone know whether or not Hasbro/Takara/Heinki will ever make a decent attempt at making a new Galvatron toy that looks like the one from the Movie.
The old Galvatron had the wrong paint and the reissue was pink?! (Its not purple!!)
I really dislike all of the galvatron toys at the moment, I've seen the Heinki Galvatron which apparently has issues moving his shoulder cannon and has a really bad alternate mode.
Energon Galvatron did actually look quite good though.
Does anyone think it would be rather easy to make a movie based Galvatron toy?

It's not pink, I have one. I suggest turning the contrast on your TV up until it matches.

Looks wise, I guess Universe is alright, but it's a POS for posing, so I've been told. I don't own one, as I was successfully discouraged by other members of this site.

I own the Takara re-issue Movie color. It ain't pink bro'. Not that purple but it ain't pink. Btw, the head sculpt was improved from the original though lacked his "tri-horned" crown (the style in the Movie/anime).

I've always personally felt that G1 Galvatron is the best of the non-Diaclone 1986 line. He has excellent articulation for his time, a well sculpted face and he works well in all three modes.
The fact he doesn't really look like the cartoon isn't even a valid complaint, in my opinion - people love the Hotrod, Kup, Blurr, Scourge and Cyclonus toys, and they're just as screen innaccurate as Galvatron. Galvatrons only real problem is that it seems to be fashionable to complain about it.
I'm not really too fussed about the fact the toy is grey. One because I grew up with the Marvel UK comics, and two because the toys were never always the same colour anyways.
Also, I prefered the original head sculpt over the "improved" Takara version.

given his status in TF lore and the fact Prime has had several molds (as has megatron), plus the fact Galvatron is going to return as a big bad in IDW soon. I cant imagine them not having another run at it, just not for another year or two. The scars of universe are too fresh lol.
Its a shame especially since theyre investing in new voyager sized figures for the Gen/RTS line. Fingers crossed that will soon be top of peoples wish lists and the powers that be will heed the call

I doubt they'll take another stab at the guy since they seem fond of making so many versions of him lately. Like the deluxe version of G1 Prime.
There's always Energon Galvatron, though. Which is amazing, but way big. And Superlink Galvy which I don't have.

Yep. I use Energon Galvatron for my Neo-G1 display. He's quite a bit larger than I'd like, but Universe Galvatron is a joke.

In all honesty, I like Universe Galvatron.
I had a lot of fun posing him. I got some good poses too. Only thing that really bothered me was his back kibble.

Wouldn't surprise me if we see a Galvatron esque color re-do of a future Megatron. But as far as G1 Accurate. Now that I think about it I could see Galvatro being given the Masterpiece treatment.

I never said i disliked the original galvatron toy. He is a very good mould with decent electronics although his colour scheme/head could ahve been better.
I'm just complaining that they did an energon megatron/galvatron which both look exactly like galvatron yet they can't make one based on the G1 version. How hard would it be?
They could combine two energon megatron figures to make the rounded body then added on twistable legs and back parts from the 1980s megatron then lastly added his cannon etc.
I will look into the reissue galvatron I just didn't like the colour scheme although I do really like the Energon Galvatron and i may get one once the price goes down a bit and after my holidy to egypt.

Not gonna say anything, but Galvatron probably might just get some love in '11

The reason for your 1986 Galvatron problem is that, in the 1986 Movie, the guy was first designed by Flory Dery as a cartoon character then translated into a toy. So you'll notice the transition ain't smooth.
While the latest incarnations were first designed by the engineers then translated into a cartoon/anime.

I like the Universe version but I would like a better done figure for him.

I had a G1 Galvatron back in the day, loved him. Got Universe Galvatron (despite the protests of many a user on this site) and my only complaint about him is the size... which is no big deal when you're pitting him against the likes anyone in the same size class or smaller... but anything bigger and they dwarf him. I still think he's a fantastic figure, and parts of him are a pretty good feat of engineering... just a feat that should have been kept at their planned size class...

I too like universe Galvatron. No real problems for me. It would've been nice of he was Voyager-class... but not necessary, either.

Was Galvatron in the WFC game? I've never played it and I don't think I will any time soon but I figured if he was it would be a matter of time before he is released. But Hasbro/Takara should definitely start from scratch and give the bot a whole new start....'nuff said!

The Uni Galvatron head was awesome and the transformation was very creative and well thought out but the bot mode was "meh". Ive never seen a robot mode that arms and legs just don't seem to look like a part of the whole like that toy.

I had always understood that to be the case with most of the '86 toy line. They were first designed for animation and the toys that followed were based on the animation models.
I think I also remember reading somewhere that Galvatron's colour scheme was originally intended to have been grey, however at the last minute they reworked his colours into the more familiar purple. Now because that redesign happened so late, toy production had in fact already begun, which is why we ended up with the colour discrepancy between the toy and the animation character.
I could of course, be wrong!

Here's my take. I'm too young to have owned a G1 Galvatron. I didn't like Energon at all, so I didn't buy any. Now, Universe/Classics Galvatron is honestly one of my favorite Transformers molds in existence. The transformation is very fun, and the colour scheme is a very creative new take on Galvatron... Which is what the Classics line was meant for... By the way... The only bad part about that figure is the legs, in the sense that he cannot stand at all.
What I'd, personally, like to see is a FansProject upgrade to counter that of Hot Rod's. The Autobots get a bit too much love in my opinion. I think with the wonderful engineers at FansProject, we could get a great upgrade that could give us a G1 accurate alt mode and a pimped out robot mode.

The opposite can be said on TFA but that is for another topic(animation first then the toy engineered or sometimes done at the same time.)

Apparently Dery had designed the original designs to be transformable, before the final animation models were made.
For example - if you pay attention to Hotrod's transformation in the Movie when they arrive at the top of Lookout Mountain, you can see the Masterpiece copies the transformation almost entirely. In fact, if they hadn't tried for the Rodimus\Hotrod combo thingy, they could have stored the legs inbetween the arms that should run all down the side of the car mode, instead of them being at the back.
