So I picked up an RID Ultra Magnus still mint in the package at my local anime store called "Animax" here in Memphis (you should check it out if you're ever in town). So should I open him or leave him sealed up nice and cozy?

I got him and Prime MIB with all accessories and the ORIGINAL BATTERIES which still worked for £40. That's £40 for both together! RiD isn't worth much on the collector's market. I can't stand RiD Ultra Magnus but he's worth buying if you have RiD Optimus just for making Omega Prime!

BTW... I've gotten all my MP's at Animax, meself, along with several older figs, and have been struggling with myself over whether or not to get the Japanese Reissue Omega Supreme they have there...

Sweet! Me too! I got MP Megatron, Magnus, and Grimlock there. I've Rodimus on pre-order. He will be the first I didn't buy from George poo. Didn't know any other TF collectors lived 'round here! We should totally hang sometime! oh, and I bought one of the Omega reissues there. It was only $40! Also got a lot of loose Alts there as well as loose classics. I only lack a Classic Rodimus/Hot Rod.

Sounds like an awesome store, wish I had one of those around me!

As for the figure, I say open it! If you get the chance, pick up the Takara Car Robots version, that box is awesome!

Apparently this one is rare to find mib because it is a CostCo exclusive or something?

The original was general retail. However, he was repainted and re-released two more times, as a Sam's Club exclusive for Universe 2003, and in a giftset with RiD Prime as a Costco exclusive, same colors as Universe.

Sounds like the one I got.
