Actoys member kiki123 posted new pics of United Lugnut. Glorious or not glorious?
You decide! Will Hasbro win this round or the victor be TakTom? :D

Hrm. I may change my preorder from United to Hasbro. I'm not sure I'm liking the green as much anymore on the Takara version; doesn't look Lugnut-y enough to me. The original photoshopped images (like on BBTS) had it more muted & grey-ish green.

Looks nice but I'm fine with Hasbro's version.
I'm not even a TFA fan so I don't know the character but still like this mold.

I wonder why neither are purple like the original Lugnut, I mean, do they think Animated Lugs shelfwarmed because of his color scheme or something?

Even though I really dont care for this figure and dont care for Hasbro taking a Animated line character and line jumping him to Genline/RTS line doesn't set well with me :-x , but Takara has the BEST color scheme....so far ;)

I'll take one of each thank you.

Both schemes are too great to pass up.

I'm really stoked that I preordered this. The green looks brilliant. Bright, brilliant, and green! I like green. ;)

I don't understand why people have a problem with Lugnut jumping lines. Surely every Transformers character has jumped lines at some point. Most of the characters from the Unicron trilogy were originally from G1. And can you imagine what it would be like if there were only original characters in the movies? It'd be only Barricade in the first and The Twins in Revenge of The Fallen. Or are G1 characters the only ones that are allowed to jump around. Jump, jump, jump around!

As for which version of Lugnut is better; I'd say Hasbro's if you're a fan of the movies and Takara's if you prefer your Classics.

A cool-looking Barricade for Generations? I'd be cool with that. So long as he doesn't have that creepy movie aesthetic train wreck of a face and design, that will be awesome! Generations/ United is where it's at. Design, aesthetic... awesome! And for the record, Jazz is one of those rarities that looks good on camera, but when you get it in hand... WOW. What an awesome toy! So perfect in all ways, and with some excellent touches as well.

This is such a wonderful mold. But, I'm gonna play devil's advocate and say I like Hasbro's version a little better.

Weird, I thought United Lugnut was going to be black. Well, lucky for me I already have the Hasbro version. ;)

For some reason, I can't concentrate on looking at Lugnut but the girl between SD Zeta Gundam and Iron Man. Joke aside, I am not really interesting in this figure but I thought my son would. But asking him several time, he doesn't seem like interesting in him also. So I think I will wait and also probably go for Hasbro version if I really want to.

I was still debating on the united Lugnut, but after seeing that the Takara image was photoshopped like he was Miss November, I'm sticking with the Hasbro Version. the "official" images look amazing. In reality, I don't think he looks so great.

I always wanted a Classics Barricade! (not the Micromaster, obviously >.>) he would make such a great counterpart to prowl! :D

I'd welcome a Barricade into the CHUG line. He'd be his Earth mode version of the War For Cybertron iteration.

As far as Lugnut goes, I always loved the way he looked for the Hasbro version ever since he was revealed in pics. There's just way too much purple on the United version which loses a realistic, gritty feel that the Hasbro version has in alt-mode. In any case, it's a great mold and I think every fan should own one for their collection.

Needs moar Purple.
Since neither the Hasbro nor the Takara one is purple I'll go for which ever will be cheaper for me to import.

My question exactly. I thought that with the initial release of the Battle in Space two-packs in retail, we'd see other Generations/RTS figures. Can't wait until he hits retail.

Well this is the CHUG line, so personally I'd consider basing him on his movie iteration a breech of what Classics set out to be.

However, they could try a "please everyone or no one" approach by making him a police car and having G1 Barricades face and colors in robot mode. That's how I'd do it anyway. If not that (and this is the most likely approach), they'll make him into a ridiculous black and white Formula-1 race car with police lights on the spoiler.

As for Lugnut... The United colors actually look kind of rubbish to me. :-?

There's nothing that says CHUG HAS to be fixed on a certain aesthetic, though. We had Unicron trilogy toys which were repainted as CHUG updates to Micromasters.

I'm really getting a G1 Apeface vibe from this guy. He's got the long arms, massive stature and an awesome jet mode.

It would go some way to explaining the colour choice on Lugnut, too, given Apefaces original colour sceme would leave the two looking too similar.

Does anybody know when he (and Grapple too) are supposed to hit the shelves? I'm driving my wife nuts going every week to Toys r Us and Target (I have no faith that Walmart will get them anytime soon if at all since they just resock of the wave 1 Generations all the time) trying to locate the two.

I'm in the same boat. I've been looking from place to place with no luck. I'm going to assume by later this month or early Feb.
