G1 re-issues in 2011?

I know there not everyone's cup of tea, but I just wondered whether we will be getting anymore official G1 re-issues in 2011.

I know its not a special anniversary this year and Encore seems to have died a death but I'm ever hopeful. If I could make a wish, it would have be for either Shockwave or Devastator, I'd even settle for a Wheeljack, Mirage or Sunstreaker.

So fingers crossed I get my wish in 2011.

3 words for you: just be patient.

And funny you should mention Wheeljack, Mirage and Sunstreaker. You do realise those three molds are unusable, right?

I would like to see more G1 reissues, myself. I really don't like spending $150+ for used, out of the box G1, and I'm weird on buying used anyways.

Why are the Wheeljack, Mirage, and Sunstreeker molds unusable? A Wheeljack Reissue would be awesome, in my opinion.

No I didn't realise that. What happened to the original molds?

Lost and in the case of Wheeljack, broken. And don't start on creating new molds from original figures, the procedure is pretty expensive and only rarely done. I only know of a handful of cases where new molds were made for reissues.

I though that Transformers were produced in China, Japan and the US. So surely it would be logical to have more than just one mold?

Mirage, Wheeljack and Sunstreaker were originally diaclone figures so they've been around since the seventies, which is gutting if true.

How do they make those KO's if the process is so expensive, wouldn't they also need to use original molds?

Yeah, that would be awesome, wouldn't it? <Insert 'thinking' smiley here, as clicking on one gives me 'confused' instead>
Just as a precaution, for no particular reason, I think I may start saving some money...

Designed in the US and Japan, and currently produced in China. Past factories were in Taiwan and Macau, among other places, but whenever a factory closes and production gets moved elsewhere, not all inventory is moved with it. That's how molds get lost.

The KO's and bootlegs are reverse-engineered using inferior materials, so their quality is usually not on par with the originals. To get the real thing you need the original molds if possible.

To prevent further derailment, here's a link:

That is really depressing news. I had both Wheeljack and Mirage when I was younger, I now wish I had taken better care of them as both ended up virtually destroyed. I never had Sunstreaker and I guess I never will unless there's a miracle. Gutted.

QFT. I don't want to relay on KOs. Also, a set of Sunstreaker, Sideswipe, and Red Alert would be sweet.

I would love to see another round of reissues. After grabbing some of the bigger Encore/2010 (Metroplex, Sky Lynx, Omega Supreme, Predaking), I keep hoping that the Encores will pop up again, but they seem to have died off. Disappointing.

However, there's still a market out there for those figures. After the last two Comic Cons, I'm hoping 2011 will have another reissue figure.

Yeah! Maybe Hasbro can release an Ultra freaking Magnus.

Hey, if they're not going to give him a new mold then they might as well reissue the best version of him. (Yes, I know he's a "block" but he's a damn good one IMO)

I'd kick a puppy for a Powered Convoy reissue. I don't see Hasbro ever releasing one though. C'mon EHobby!

Hasbro did put out a Ultra Magnus reissue a few years ago. Short stacks and all.

But yeah, i'd love a Powered Convoy. Though I can't see that any time soon, especially from Takara seeing as they're using that mold in another way next year.

The Sunstreaker K.O. is a verrrrrrrrry good recreation of him. Compared it to my original.

As for the rest, be careful with what you wish for, IIRC one of our members got a "Diaclone" Ultra Magnus that was rife with QC issues.

As for who TomyTakara will re-issue, smart money is on the already re-issued molds:

1.Prowl,Bluestreak,Smokescreen
2.Sideswipe,Red Alert
3.Seekers
4.UM is a possibility
5.Tracks
6.Hound
7.Galvatron(if it gets past the child safety laws)
8.Trailbreaker/Hoist
9.Inferno/Grapple
10.Blitzwing

* These are all speculations on my part but in a business sense, heck they(the molds) already are on hand so what's stopping Hasbro? Oh yes, the economy more or less likely so we're getting the RTS/United versions more or less.

In my case, it took me nearly 20 years of waiting(just managed to acquire Encore Trailbreaker and the Casseticons and Cassetobots in the past 2 years) patiently to almost complete(with the exception of the Dinobots) the season 1 characters. So maybe we should all be a Jedi and patiently wait for the day they get re-issued (then there's ebay)

I am aware of his last release, but the thing is...
I hadn't even discovered Transformers yet when he was released.
Takara using the mold next year huh? So you do know stuff that we don't? I don't ever hear you say anything about future releases.
I'm still deciding whether I wan't to dump my money on G1 UM or Buster Prime.

Dinobots Giftset? Nah, if I can just get the weapons that I'm missing for all 5 of mine, I'll be cool. :P

I'm more excited by what Ehobby will produce along side the reissues, personally. I still want that G1 Blurr redeco into Arcee.

If we told you everything we heard it could get people fired.

Or it could turn out to be a rumour.

Or I (sometimes we) could just be screwing with your heads.

Either way, someone's going to get pissed off.

Yeah I kind of figured that you guys hold a lot back...it wouldn't be good for you guys to spill the beans all the time.
But I usually catch the toy spoilers from Blurrz. I think he already told me about that toy you mentioned in this thread. I remember everything he says about the future...
But I'm not extremely gullible with rumors. I very much enjoy watching everyone blow up when rumors prove to be false. :P
And I already know you mess with us. That's what you do best. Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing depends on who you ask.
And hell, everyone's pissed on here. Getting mad is what the fandom does best. And Hasbro when an anonymous Mack truck pops up.

@ Amelie

I think Elita One would make good use of a G1 Blurr mold and not Arcee. Her transform mode looks eerily similar to Blurr's
Just look at her besides Optimus http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Image:ElitaVehicle01.jpg
