Movie Toys: Too much of a good thing?

Okay, am I the only one who thinks they're going to want WAY more of the movie line than they're actually gonna be able to get?
Yesterday's haul was Giftcard Prime ($5 on him), Booster X10, FAB Brawl, Deluxe Brawl, Swindle, Wreckage, Cyber Slammer Barricade, and Robo Vision Prime.
And I'm amazed at how much is still on shelves that I want. I have all the deluxes except Jazz and Scorponok, but I've barely even STARTED on the other sizes, and thus fsr, I'm really digging pretty much everything...
And, in a nutshell, I don't think I'll be able to keep up once more stuff hist stores.

I'm having a hard time striking a balance between buying up the movie toys and saving my money for older stuff at Botcon.

Good for you my friend. As for me I just dont feel the same and probably because I have become too selective, too picky in collecting them now. So far I only got leader prime simply because of the size, the fun of transforming him, and what a great looking, sturdy truck he is and of course he is prime. The other one I got is blackout. He is very cool and a badass decepticon. Maybe the next one which I will get is the ultimate version of Bumblebee since he will fit in nicely with the MP line i think. Thats it for me. The rest so far just doesnt jive for me.

Where did you find the gift card? Was it at the registers or someplace else?
I've checked a few Targets and haven't seen any (checking at the register holders).

Well, that's why you aren't finding him... He'll be with the greeting cards. Hope that helps, and happy hunting!

Well, if they keep releasing all the fast action battlers, and all those other ones, there's going to be atlesat maybe 70+ figures in the movie line.

Much to my surprise it really is taking all my will power not to walk out the shops with 5 or 6 tfs at a time, I must admit Im liking the movie toys, even if im less then convinced abouttheir big screen counterparts yet.
My plan right now is to only buy the mainline tfs and Real Gears, I will then look into getting the Protoforms, and Fabs, and if I STILL have any money, and if they are STILL on the shelves, I may look into the legends, and other odds n sods (Optimash Prime for instence).

I'm limiting myself to toys to scale with each other and in the movie. That means pretty much just six road vehicles. Also the Japanese Leader Starscream, which will still be smaller than realistic scale, but at least he won't look ridiculous next to Prime.

Gah I'm such a tf whore. I don't want the real gears or fabs or any of the other random stuff like optimash prime or cyber slammers or what have you (though I do want slumblebee and softimus) but for someone who swore he wouldn't get the movie line I did pretty poorly in my promise. Today was pay day and after today I have all of the regular movie line aside from leader megatron who I just haven't seen often enough (only once did I see him at he was at target so he was $5 more... I'm cheap, I figure he'll be everywhere soon at regular price and then I'll get him).
I walked home with starscream, ironhide, and freaking scorponok. Even when I had almost all the line I promised I wouldn't get scorponok... And I did. Gosh freaking damn it, Hasbro is laughing all the way to the bank. Funny thing is I actually like scorponok, he sucks but he didn't try to be good in the first place so I forgive him. He reminds me of the beast machines beastformers, those I hate with a pashion, but at least this guy has a supposed robot mode. I even came home with a g1 brawl key chain figure.
To think this all started because I saw Leader Prime 2 weeks before June 2nd and felt the need to cheat the system. It just snowballed from that.

QFT... Hasbro did a nice job cleaning the designs up, and If I had to guess, I'd say there's probably going to be some cases where the movie would have looked better if the renders were more toy-accurate.

Usually, I just go for the stuff that is out, or the stuff that is being shown. Like when there was cybertron I went for that and not energon. Now there is the movie, and I am going for the toys from that. Besides the Movie Toys look really cool.

I'm sticking to the mainline toys. I'm not interested in the Real Gears, FAB's, Legends, Optimash this and whatever else. Just the main figs.
I've got Voyager (Robo-Vision) Prime. Blackout, Ironhide, Deluxe 74' Bumblebee, Jazz, Wreckage, Brawl & Barricade. I will likely get Ratchet and am up in the air about Starscream. But I must have Leader Class Prime. And I will, oh I will!!

Not buying any of the non-transforming stuff, so that already helps a lot. Not buying the Cyber Slammers save for Prime. Not buying repaints (Jazz, Ratchet, Barricade, Prime) or remolds (Thundercracker, Starscream). Not buying the Scouts save for Arcee. Actually, I'm almost done with movie toys already. Only missing :
-Legend Blackout
-FAB Blackout
-FAB Barricade
-FAB Bumblebee
-DLX Payload
-DLX Dropkick
-DLX 08 Bumblebee
-Leader Brawl
-Ultimate Bumblebee
Got all the others already.

I only buy the..."normal" action figures of the lines, in this case, the deluxes, voyagers and leaders. Ill only get leader optimus and megatron (wont get their voyager versions), wont get any basics i think because I dont like the real gear stuff, and the cybertron repaitns I could do without (and already have them in the original line anyway), and I wont get any of the non-transformable stuff either.
so I'm looking at about...15 figures?
Autobots
Leader Optimus Prime
Voyager Ironhide
Voyager Ratchet
Deluxe Jazz
Deluxe Bumblebee (74 and 08)
Deluxe Arcee (maybe)
Decepticons
Leader Megatron
Voyager Starscream
Voyager Blackout
Deluxe Bonecrusher
Deluxe Barricade
Deluxe Wreckage
Deluxe Swindle
guess its 13 ^_^ unless they anounce any more new molds

I will wait for the larger Decepticon molds we have heard rumors of. Other than that I have nearly all the toys I will buy from the movie line.
Want they are killing me with though is all the non-toy merch. Shirts, towels, bedroom sets, pins, keychains, cards, chess sets, monopoly, it just goes on and on. And I'm sure there will only be more in the weeks and months to come.

I'm getting Jazz and Blackout, but now I'm wanting Ironhide, Ratchet, Optimus Prime, Starscream and even Barricade. Damn those toys are well done...

I'm pretty good and selecting what I want. For example, since the Classics line got me into TF again, I'm getting all the individual movie characters in deluxe and voyager scale, but even then I use discrection. For example, '78 Bumblebee looks hideous, so I'm waiting for the 2008 concept model version.
Basically I buy anything I think is cool and would fit with my other toys, so I don't feel compelled to buy everything, such as the fast action battlers.
