Robot Mode Images of DOTM Starscream and Dread

Auctions continue to be our best source of information on the upcoming Transformers: Dark of the Moon toy line. This time a couple of auctions have appeared on Ebay Australia for
Starscream and
the black SUV/Dread. We've seen both these figures previously in their vehicle modes, and we've even seen the Dread in his prototype robot mode. The good thing about these auctions is they show both figures in their robot modes, though Starscream appears to be horribly mistransformed.

Mistransformation FTW on both counts.
Starscream would probably look better if he was transformed properly, but seems to be suffering from a case of Copper Crotch.
Anyone else betting the Dreads have Jamaican accents?

Clearly the seller isnt much of a TF fan, I would think most fans would know how ROTF Starscream transforms.
I got the Leader Starscream and will be sticking with that.

Mistransformed or not, both are easy passes. I'm getting tired of transformers with "hair."
"Megatron went down to Jamaica, he was looking for some Dreads to steal.."

"Sigh"
All I remember hearing when the first movie's deisgns came out was how they wanted then to look "alien" and so they did away with the humanoid faces. So why do they insist on giving them stupid things like buck teeth and dreadlocks?
Besides, after Predator, Battlefield Earth, and the Matrix Reloaded, isn't the whole dreadlock thing played out?

Starscream is an easy pass, what with the fantastic Leader mold available. Nice to see they finally got his head right on a smaller figure, though.
As for Dread, I finally see what people are talking about when they say the dreadlocks are stupid. I expected them to be silver, so that they blend in with the dark colour scheme and robot design, but the gold just looks crap and stands out far too much. Expect critics to raise another racism debate about these guys.

True, but how is knowing the transformation of one toy relevant to transforming a completely different one. This Starscream is a new mold different to that of ROTF.
Looks kind if interesting though. Those huge copper blades kind of remind me of Energon Starscream.

I agree with RP on this and feel the same way,why couldnt Hasbro have given articulated arms and hands that look like the movie characters to the figures instead of making the TFTM S.S. with oversized gatling gun hands and the ROTF S.S. with backward elbows and now this version looks like the middle section was underdone.Dont get me wrong,I still like the first 2 figures but they should have been had better engineering.

The Dread looks terrible and it's more than just the stupid dreadlocks. the whole dumb claw thing just looks idiotic. I mean the have ravage...he is a panther. so why try to make some oddball wanna-be insecticon SUV? seriously hasbro WTF?!?
As for starscream, i have never owned a movie starscream but even I can tell he is horribly mistransformed. Otherwise he looks like he may be one of the few and by few i mean only DotM bot that I may consider buying so far.

Why do all the DOTM toys looks so freaking stupid!? It's like they got lazy and decided to make them as far from screen accurate as possible!

Even if they were transformed correctly it probably wouldnt save em. the dread guy has a slight predator vib but unless you can fold the pincers down in robot mode im going to pass, starscream is a pass since i already have the ROTF voyager and the g1 colored one from the first movie plus this one doesnt look that great and im getting sick of starscream.

It's pretty obvious that Bay is a bigot. I don't hold it against him, for it's his right to depict characters the way he sees fit in his movies. As a transformer nerd, it will be difficult to pass on the movie and its toys, but as a "minority" American, I cannot support the direction of the franchise with my own hard earned money. Some of us Americans still have to deal with the stereotypes embraced by some modern media. Only through the power of the almighty buck, can my disgust be represented. And with that, I step off the soapbox.

I like the Dread, apart from the, well, 'dreads.' They just seem to stick out the side of it's head.
I'll probably just stick with the Legends version.
First-Aid wrote:Anyone else betting the Dreads have Jamaican accents?
Considering they're Decepticons, I doubt they'll even talk.

Yes! Someone else, finally! I like that they're different too. Even Optimus Prime.

*sigh*
MechTech is an even dumber idea than some of the MechAlive and springloaded gimicks before it. Those hideously oversized and awkward weapons are making most of these even more idiotic looking than usual.
At this rate I'm going to be buying very few DOTM figures, unless they're ones I can discard the stupid MechTech and give them a normal weapon. Good thing I have two jungle strike Ironhides to spread the DAKKA <3!

Easy pass for both. The Dread looks stupid and I already have leader Starscream. More money saved, yay.
So far there are *2* possible purchases from the DOTM line for me.

How is giving a robot dreadlocks make him a bigot? I just don't understand it man. Is it because Bay is white (oh ****! i said white. i guess i'm a bigot, sorry) that it pisses people off. What if Bay was anything other than Caucasion then would having another culture represented as a TF at all be O.K?
Nobody gave a **** about Jazz. Everybody lost there **** over SKids and Mudflap. WHere the hell is this "line" that nobody can cross? help me out here.....
