Fansproject Protector handshake?

What on earth is the black and white thing that comes with Fansproject's Parallax Protector (aka the Rodimus Prime armour for classic Rodimus).

It kinda looks like two robot's hands (one black and one white) in a handshake pose, with two pegs that assumedly fit in the actual robot's hands. Having tried it out on the armour's hands, it either fits very loosely, or worryingly tightly, and doesn't really look 'right' no matter which way I fit it.

After scouring the instructions, I can find no mention of it, so I'm wondering, is it something to do with the blacked out robot on the last page of the instruction book and is it even meant to be in this set?

Not the best quality, but hopefully you get the idea.

Plug one part into Protector, plug the other part into Classics Prime.

Instant "Wish You Were Here" album cover.

Ahh right.

And for the record, great album.
