I love the Movieverse toyline, but scale is very important to me. Making another Huge Bumblebee does seem like a waste to me as well. I would love to see these molds saved for some Constructicons, I think the biggest disapointment for me in ROTF was that their individual personalities never revealed. A toy for Scrapper would help that tremendously, and in turn improve my thoughts on that movie.

Back to my point about scale, my favorite Transformer line has been the HA line. Though the DOTM HA is really scaring me. I have all of these realisitic looking cars from ROTF, but the new ones dont even look like vehicles. =; I love the HA line because it forces Hasbro to at least sorta keep things in scale.

What we need is more large scale Decepticon Bayverse move toys. Cuz they would be AMAZING!!!! LC SS is one of the greatest toys ever made. :CON:

Another BB with a canon hand! Hasbro, do you not listen? We don't want the canon hand! Oh well, not like I'm buying another BB anyways. My '76 '09 Concept and HA BB is enough.

On another note, that Optimus is tiny. Deluxe class maybe?

The new leader class bumblebee looks horrible. Sure it may be a little screen accurate than the BO BB with the new chest... but omg he is so disproportionate... look at those skinny arms! ... not to mention... WHY ARE WE GETTING ANOTHER LC BB ANYWAYS?????!?!... :BANG_HEAD: -sigh-

I REALLLY dont like that new voyager prime either ... its got so much weird looking kibble and I dont see why they just didnt re-release battleblade prime with some slight retooling and a trailer for this movies voyager? That figure was so good I wouldnt even mind buying it twice! ...

Also, that deluxe starscream is actually more impressive than I would have thought. It looks like a mini scaled version of the LC (which was honestly one of the best transformers ever released IMO). He's a definite buy for me

So far for me the DOTM Starscream, Ironhide, and Megatron are for sure buys for me. Im looking forward to pics of LC Sentinel prime but would probably get it anyways on account for the namesake. 8)

Leader class BB looks good but I really have no need for him. OP and Starscream just look bad IMO.

well...not only is it still a generally crappy DotM toy. Leader-class just makes it a mound of crap instead of a deluxe sized pile...

After the previous great effort on Leader Starscream, Leader Bumblebee seems very lacking. They had the chance to improve on the HA figure but they blew it. Smacks of being a rushed figure and how many years have they had to get Bumbleebee right?

Looks like a box of poor gimmicky electronics with the rest of the bot built around it. Why only one hand?

Why is it the people who own, design and sell these characters and toys dont seem to give a damn about them? You'd think they would want to produce the best product they can rather than have a half hearted stab at it and the then say "That'll do, its close enough". Dont they even attempt to think about what their fans want, what their fans are screaming for?

Imagine if they used the sort of complexity that the HA Bumblebee figure has but on every piece of the Leader figure, lots of pieces to transform! Sure, it would probably be more expensive as it would require more parts but how awesome would that be?

It's disappointing that the first leader we are getting is BB. Not like we didn't see a leader BB coming because he sells toys, but I could much more easily justify another leader OP before a leader BB.

I gotta wonder why they keep releasing versions that aren't quite as good as what's already out there. I guess people still buy them anyway.

I agree with you entirely! I love it when things are to scale; was slightly disappointed that my BB Optimus and Mixmaster are slightly out of scale with each other (Mixmaster is lager than he should be, next to Prime...Or vise versa).

Funny thing is; concerning the Constructicons, among many things I've realised that the RPM Mixmaster is more-or-less to scale with Voyager Demolishor (Scavenger)!

Speaking of HA, have you noticed the human figures are actually closer to scale with Voyager Ratchet, Deluxe Skids, Mudflap and Jazz (rather than Deluxe Bumblebee, Sideswipe, Barricade, etc and Voyager Ironhide)?

Honestly all my Humans (& Frenzy) are in a storage tub in my closet. All 6 of my HA line is proudly displayed above my PC!! :KREMZEEK:

I am completely with you on the scale being important. That is the only reason I started collecting the Legends class and RPM's in the first place. I was shocked by the size of Demolisher's toy size. But it seems more realistic with the Legends class. Even Devastator, and stratosphere are closer with the legends than with the others others.

I would welcome this toy as i have most leader class models but that chest looks a bit like ROTF L C megatron and that boney grey cannon looks very poor i would love a 2 handed bb with a gun.

Starscream was the example to lead the way i hope if they do ironhide and they make him that standard.

I will not be paying full price for BB i think im going to wait a couple of month after release leader class always drops to £25 over here.

That is a pretty bad leader figure, i think even hasbros getting sick of making movie toys. so is there a figure class that hasn't had a bummblebee (or 5) in it yet?

I think that's kinda outta line there, man.

By all means, if you don't like a toy then feel free to tell the world but I think attacking the integrity of the people who work really gosh darn hard on these toys is totally out-of-order. Jus' sayin.

And as for what the fans want, well, remember all those Bumblebees we had during the ROTF line? Well they paid for all the awesomeness we've had out of Generations and RTS.
You've gotta remember, this is a kids toy line. The money they make from collectors is a fraction of their income.

The success of the second movie line allowed HasTakTom to branch out with the post-movie stuff and do some awesome homages for the long-time fans (who ever thought we'd see a VOYAGER SEASPRARY? with fraking FLIPPERS!!), which is something they really had no obligation to do. It also allowed them to experiment with some new ideas i.e. powercore and stealth force (with varying degrees of success, as one would expect.)

And now, with the third movie coming around it's time for them to start really aiming for the kids market again. Of course, that doesn't mean we won't be getting some awesome fan nods in the movie line but it does mean that the line is first and foremost a kids appeal line. And kids love that Bumblebee :D

EDIT: Quote was broken! My bad!

the problem isnt with them making bumblebees and movie toys to appeal to children. the problem is the figures look like **** no matter who they are intended for.

Just my two cents' worth, but the biggest problem with movieverse toys is that there are several chefs in the kitchen working on one single meal. If I recall correctly, the design of the characters are done by Dreamworks [I think, or some other CG company] under supervision by Micheal Bay. The concept designs are then passed on to Hasbro and/or Takara Tomy to be realized into toys.

It's obviously a difficult task trying to figure out a "real life" transformation sequence for a bot and alt mode you didn't design yourself, and the Dreamworks guys were more preoccupied with how the CG would look onscreen rather than how the designs would be made toys. Worse still, time is a luxury these designers can ill afford in their rush for the simultaneous release with the movie.

In fact, I'd say time is the biggest problem for these guys. I mean, look at leader class ROTF OP and Leader class Starscream. Given enough time [and budget] for development, they CAN come up with great accurate representations of the CG in the TF movies.

New and updated pics are up for the Leader Class Bumblebee. Malaysian TF site transmy.com have an article up with regards to the toy and some comments inserted. Interesting to note is that the new Leader Class Bumbleebee is reusing some parts from the Human Alliance Bumblebee figure, particularly the head. There are also other observations noted in the figure, especially one with the chest and also other parts of the legs and arm cannon.

unlike last time where you need to register to see the pics in their forum boards, the pics are now readily available in their news section - free for ALL to see. No registration required.

What's with all the junk on the chest?

The chest junk colour doesn't match the rest of him.

Legs are seriously out of proportion.

Monkey arms.

Pass.
