RTS Windcharger - Flimsy Plastic?

I was lucky enough to find RTS Windcharger the other day, which is suprising because we havent had anything new here in AGES. He's a pretty cool figure, but I'm a little concerned about the plastic they used.

From pictures it's not noticable, but it turns out that the red parts are that metallic plastic where there are flecks of metallic material swirled around in a base color, which might actually be clear in this instance, as it's almost transleucent in parts. It seems kind of thin and flimsy or even brittle compared to the usual non-metallic plastic they use, and I'm worried we might be seeing the advent of RPS (Rainbow Plastic Syndrome).

Anybody else share my concern?

Not really, all plastic may seem clearish when thin enough to let light through. I've noticed that red and yellow plastics are especially prone to this, probably due to wave lengths of those colors of light.

Hmm, I guess so. It just seems worse than something like Universe Sideswipe. Hopefully I'm just being paranoid!

You know, I'd like to see this for myself. You wouldn't happen to have anymore Windchargers near you that you could share with us, right? :KREMZEEK:

Haha, uh...not readily available, no. I'll let you know if they become shelfwarmers. ;)

I'm not sure about plastics, but with paint red and yellow are notoriously hard to work with because the pigment is always very thin - if the same is true of plastic, that would result in a slightly transparent plastic.

Dunno if he's actually out yet near us but Kohl's seem to get scouts and deluxes faster than other places. They're a bit more expensive but they're an option. Have you tried them?

Oh yeah, I forgot they get scouts. I'll have to hit them more often.

Could just be that being smaller yet still as detailed as a deluxe the parts need to be smaller and thinner. Mine is fine though.
