Our Japanese friend Alfes 2010 has got his hand on the Masterpiece MP-09 Rodimus Convoy and posted the package images of the toy.
He also shares the bio card as well as instruction manual of the figure.










MP-09 is expected to be released in Japanese retails this Saturday.

This Saturday? BBTS wasn't kidding about late January. NICE! I can't wait until it arrives. It will be a birthday present to myself.

Why is the artwork face always better than the face on the toy? It was the same with Megatron. With MP Megs, he had his "normal" face but the one we got looked decidedly younger. Now the artwork for Rodimus has a much better face than the one on the toy. I know, this is a minor gripe, however, if this is the only think I can find to complain about, this will be an amazing addition to my collection.

Holy devine Jesus, that box is gorgeous! I cannot wait to get mine! BBTS should have them tomorrow. I hope I get my box unscathed.

Trikeboy, are you referring to the image of the toy on the box? He comes with 2 faces, his Rodimus Prime face and his Hot Rod face. the box is showing the Rodimus face.

I really want this toy. What is that orb in the accessories? And is that the Energon Goodie Box underneath it?

Total, utter turnoff if this is true. I just that the Hasbro one is maroon if so.

God I hope not, EVERY OTHER HOT ROD I OWN IS RED. While maroon would be movie accurate it would look strange with all the other red guys.

For some reason, this figure is just screaming at me "PASS"!!! Maybe the colors, maybe it looking toooo 1980's future carish, I dunno.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but will Hasbro's MP Rodimus still have both Hot Rod & Rodimus Prime robot modes?

Yes, just not the Trailer.

Yes. Just not the vehicle modes due to a lack of the trailer.

I wonder why Hasbro couldn't make a cardboard trailer with a plastic nosepiece....

I've only been half-heartedly tracking the progress of this figure since I had not planned on picking it up initially, but lately my curiosity has risen. Hasbro is not releasing a trailer with their version? That's about the lamest, most piss-poor marketing choice they could make with this figure. They might as well not even do a release at all. Unlike Optimus, who is who he is with OR without the trailer, Rodimus w/out a trailer is Hot Rod. Well, I guess I'll be saving some dough now.

No, I'm referring to the artwork on the instruction manual and bio card.

It's to keep the costs low. Currently, Rodimus Convoy is retailing around $210-220.00 at Japanese pricing.

That would mean the US version would have to be at least $100.00 or more to even make it to store shelves, and it won't sell.

So, instead, they're producing a new accessory, rumored to be his Targetmaster, Firebolt. Other accessories have been hinted to.

I decided to bite the bullet and buy the TakaraTomy version, and I'm not thrilled with the price, but I'd much rather have it be whole than to sit there and always want more. And possibly spend more.

The box is soo beautiful but the back has roddy in red but the frot of the box has him in magenta so what is he colored? anyway, he should be in the U.S. by tomorrow of saturday I connot wait any longer!!

Well just payed for the big guy from hlj so I'll be able to see the box up close real soon.

He's probably deep magenta that looks red in dark lighting conditions and bright maroon when out in the light. In any case a sexy figure.
