Battle Blades Optimus Prime's Secret Hinge

Before you all yell at me and say "Shut up we already know about the hinge," let me explain here.
For those of you who don't know yet, the recent Battle Blades Optimus Prime figure features a hinge on the back of the truck cab (or the lower back in robot mode) that supposedly makes the transformation easier, but is undocumented in the instructions. You see, doing it the way the instructions tell you causes you to force the head down into the chest cavity and get the Matrix wedged between the bottom of the cavity it and the head, making the head nearly impossible to remove being wedged in with the Matrix.
I had discovered the hinge before it had even become known, but never found a way to pull the roof off to see what it was for (but I assumed it was to help in transformation and was undocumented), and I still can't. I feel like I'm going to break the roof on the sides if I try to pull it hard enough. Does anyone know how this hinge works?

You shouldn't have any trouble lifting it up. Have you disconnected the sides of the truck where the guns are attached?

I know exactly what you mean, the hinge on mine is very tight, I have always blamed my custom paint job on blocking it up, but maybe mine like yours is crazy tight.

Yes, it is just really tight.

Maybe you could put some lube in there. Mine is fine.

Is this for the Leader class or the voyager class or both? I have the voyager class but think I may just leave him in robot mode. I have the 07 movie voyager prime and he stays in truck mode since he has the back pack issue.

What backpack issue? Why buy a transformer that will stay in alt mode? He's one of the most poseable TFS yet!

So I keep the 07 voyager in truck mode and use the other one (and your right) to pose and keep mostly in robot mode.

So I haven't gotten that rotten hinge working yet but I finally discovered the panels on the upper arms that pull out and the backs of his feet that pull out. #-o

I know were not talking about 07 prime. I was asking if the hinge is on the voyager and leader prime or just the leader class?

I do not have the leader (but he's $29.99 on HTS now :D ) but I believe this is only for the voyager class, which is based on the leader but does differ greatly. However, I really don't know. I've only seen this subject come up on the voyager.

I got it to work guys! I was just trying to pry it up by the roof rather than pushing it out in the chest cavity.
I also discovered that the shoulder/bicep armor slides out, the heels of the feet slide out, and the wheels above the feel flip up into a better position #-o

Yeah, there's a lot of stuff on this figure that the instructions left out.

Here's a tip: slice off the tabs on the blades. They serve no purpose and just get in the way. They aren't necessary for the holding them in place in alt mode as the swivel joints are stiff. He's so much better off without them.

Yes, those are extremely annoying when you try to flip them up into the arms.
