I remember quite a while a back it had been mentioned that there was supposed to be a Voyager Prime and Jetfire combo. It was going to use the same Voyager Optimus mold from 2007 and the Jetfire parts would be an add-on.

But seems like Takara kept the name, "United".

However, for DOTM, Hasbro is releasing a new legends class Optimus that does include the Jetfire parts to combine with. nd yes, it's a totally new mold. It's not just the Jetfire that sticks to Optimus's back either, the Jetpack is a customized piece to resemble Jet Optimus more. I know it's not a voyager, but it's something.

If I remembered right, wasn't that Hasbro's plan screwed up this Takara's set? By the time Takara was designing this set (along with the silver voyager Megatron) and even put it up on Figure King, Hasbro released the voyager Battle Blades Optimus Prime. Or maybe something else that I got the timing wrong.

I still see it listed on hlj. That canceled topic is nearly a year old at this point. hlj says they expect it february 16th. Maybe the site is totally and completely wrong, but I would hope not. I dont see them trying to swindle anyone either.

I wouldn't get your hopes up too high. It's kinda suspect that hlj expects it in two weeks and we haven't heard anything of this set since it was rumored to be canceled and no other online stores have any pre-orders.

I tried looking for it the hard way: no results.

I had hoped it was going back to the drawing board so that the armor could be reworked to fit Battle Blades Prime. But alas, no such news ever surfaced. Complete shame, I'd have grabbed this set.

Aye, it's a shame. Would've been affordable and have a jet without 99% of the robot hanging underneath it.

That's the exact reason my Jetfire has never seen his alt mode again after one quick transformation out of the box. Looks awful IMO. Now he just stays permanently joined to my original ROTF Prime and I use my Buster Prime as my display Prime.

I'd surely liked to have had this set still.

Phantom!? That's a really nice word to use it. It would be fantastic if my leader class can look like that. Like Pontimax 01 said, my Jetfire won't even see his own robot mode that often also.

Well, that's a bit disappointing!

I was really hoping for something like this to happen as I haven't owned any leader class figures since Cybertron. I still can't get around telling my wife I want to drop $200 on 4 leader class figures. I had the horrible TF addiction before and put us into much debt, so there's not much of a chance I'll be picking up OP and Jetfire in their leader class forms.

Here's hoping to that above rumored legends combiner figures!
