What do you use to display your collection?

I'm sure this has been talked about. I searched but didn't really get any info.
I've got a pretty crowded room and I don't have any extra shelves for my growing TF collection. I've always heard about this thing from IKEA, but it only has 3 levels. Id like an enclosed case so I wont have to dust them so much. Suggestions?

Hmm, yes, enclose your shelfings. I'm trying to sell most of my transformers, to make room for a new collection: All G1 Baby! I think I would go with an enclosed shelf, kind of like the one you displayed. Get two of them, and put them right next to each other, if you have room.

I've looked into these myself, actually. Check out this link for an idea of what you're looking at with these display cases. They're pretty nice and fairly reasonable in price, but to take full advantage of display space you're limited to, risers are pretty much a must. Anyhow, there are pics throughout the thread:

You could even try Craigslist. I've found 2 identical for 25 each that look like what you have pictured. Might be a cheaper solution, however there condition vary and pending on the size of your city will either limit your or give you tons of options. But......if your not patient, I'd say look in stores.

I use bikini-clad beauties to display mine. For some reason I've never noticed if the TFs get dusty or not...

****, I just use Billy bookshelves from IKEA. Your idea is way better. Anyway, here's a peak at mine.
I have two of the Billy bookshelves at the moment. I haven't bought glass shelves and glass doors for my second one, but I will eventually.

I like the idea of taller slender units. Kinda like a high rise apartment complex for the guys. Except Ravage always pees in the pool.

Plano brand heavy duty shelf units; they come in 4 shelf units, 14" x 32", dark gray or white, 16" between shelves. I have all of mine bumped up to 5 shelves. I can accomodate up to Supreme on these shelves in height. I can fit 12-18 figures per shelf depending on size. I'm about ready to add another unit, collections getting kind of cluttered (more "toys" need more space)

I custom built some shelves for storage of both my sons and my toys. I also used the really large size building blocks so they have 2 levels, since most of my colection is Deluxe sized.

Most of mine are located in some kind of like 6' by 6' cube things that is supposedly from IKEA.
U can check my collection thread for pics of it.
Might not be the best, but it gives u a lot of space and functionality along with the cubes being seperated so u can group things together and the like.
I got it for free, but I was told it was an IKEA thing....
U guys putting doors on display cases, can u post some links for us so we can get an idea of size and price on them?

Standard size Billy Bookcase with 2x doors are $160
- $70 for the Billy Bookcase

Glass shelves are $10 a piece (I thought they were $5, oh well). You'll need 4x of 'em

That's why you have to visit an IKEA in person. It really is an experience to visit one.

Mine are simply on a shelf: it's the best I can give to them.

Same here. I picked up these kool looking 5 tier bookshelves that are open all the way around for 20 bucks each. Once I feel like my collection is to standards of the great ones I see in the collections forum, I'll post them....

i have 3 detolf shelves and although theyre nice they are extremely heavy and hard to keep clean. just found some bookshelves at target for like $16 and they fit my needs perfectly. i use the glass cases for my leaders and movie figs and one for my mp's. all my classics,3rdparty,and alternities are in the bookshelves.

I went to IKEA in Charlotte to check out some things. I saw all the ones mentioned here and while nice, they need more shelves swing as most TFs are under a foot tall. I went to a used retail mechandise kinda store where all they sell is racks and shelves from stores and found a sweet tall full glass tower with a lockable door. They wanted 160 for the thing though.

Cylindrical cabinets are more spacious and would let me view my TFs from any angle while keeping them dust-free.
Any kind of shelf is alright, as long as they keep the dust out.

I like to use ikea book shelves but the ones with the natural wood tone. They show off the colours really well of each figure and makes them all pop. I have a couple so that each figure has some room and it's unique qualities aren't homogenized with the rest and not lost upon the observer.
I like to display each figure as a piece of art for the most part because that's what they are too me and should be treated as such.
Plus i have them lit up for added affect.

I am in awe...
As for myself, I use an all IKEA setup, consisting of a Detolf shelf for the "highlights" of my collection, the right side of my a TV entertainment cabinet [or whatever it's called], the upper tier of my work table, and three shelf-spaces on my Billy bookshelf.
