I tried, I really tried to solve this issue on my own, but the question still haunts me:

"Masterpiece or Revoltech?"

Both are highly articulated in robot mode, but only MP Mags has a truck mode. However, I've watched two video reviews of MP Mags: his hands are apparently VERY hard to extend when converting to robot mode. Also, MP is significantly larger than Revoltech.

I'm not asking for someone else to make the decision for me, I just want someone else to help me make the decision.

It's going to depend on what you want in your collection.

Personally, I don't collect Revoltech as I'm not a fan of action masters.

If I had the excess cash lying around, I'd buy the MP. I already own MP-04 Convoy and I love that figure. Naturally, I think MP Ultra Magus would be a good buy.

If articulation is what you want, then you need to decided 2 things. 1 is how much do you want to spend? and the other is, how large do you want Ultra Magnus to be in your collection?

1) I don't have much to spend right now, I brought up the MP because there's one still at it's minimum bid on eBay. Even if I do bid on that one, I'll probably outbid within hours.

2) Nothing larger than a voyager class, with exceptions for exceptional figures (lol bad pun)

I think you have your answer.

All of it will always boil down to funds. No sense in starving over a figure so either wait or buy something that will keep you occupied.

I myself, say wait until you have the resources to buy what you really want.

I think MP Magnus is kinda lame without any armor to go with him. But you're probably pretty unlikely to get him for under $100 anyhow.

I kind of prefer Magnus's inner robot to his armor.

Well, the bid I was going to place was already outdone by a land slide, so I guess it's Revoltech for me! (At the meager amount of money I have at the moment, it's either non-transformable junk or KO junk)

It looks like you already have the magnus figure,so buy the armor or buy the ko armor,this is the way!!!

If you have Classics Ultra Magnus, then you'd definitely want to invest in City Commander. You would never regret it.

I don't have classics Mags, I found this image on the internet. And there's a reason I don't have him. I don't like that his mouth plate is painted silver instead of sky blue.

Easy to fix. Buy the Reprolabels upgrade kit. UM will then look like, pardon the pun....his "classic" blue mouth guard self. Then you can then go ahead and buy the City Commander set.

I don't have enough money to spare for the City Commander.

Crazy idea, I know… But why not save your money until you can afford something you don't consider junk?

save your money and get mp2 as awesome as city commander is theres nothing like a foot tall 4lb transforming robot.youll get articulation close to revoltech and transformation to boot. city commander transforms really well but posing him can be a real problem. if you want one now then get the alternity version hes available at most online retailers.

I'll consider all the ideas up to this point, none below.
