The news from Ryan and Seibertron.com staff members attending Toy Fair 2011 is just getting started and the first story being reported from Hasbro is a big one! At this summer's Comic-Con 2011 in San Diego, one of Hasbro's exclusives will be a G.I. Joe/Transformers brand crossover set that features a Joe Skystriker jet painted to resemble Decepticon Starscream. Also included in the set will be a Cobra Commander who will be armed with a mini Megatron gun! No photos of the set yet but when they're available, you'll find them here first. This set will no doubt be very popular when it's released at Comic-Con so start planning your trip to San Diego now if you hope to pick this up!

Above is a photo of a Skystriker in original G.I. Joe colors.

Never was a big fan of the idea of that sort of crossover, but they sure did make it sound tempting!

These specific toys I don't want, but I really hope that this is a prelude to a real Joe/Transformers Crossovers line.

Meh. I wish I could say I was excited about it, but I'm not.
It sounds more like a pair of G.I. Joe toys, one with a new accessory and the other with a new paint job.

So once again Hasbro trolls the fans over a Joe/TF crossover. Trolling is a banable offense, why isn't Hasbro banned? WHO WILL STAND WITH ME AGAINST THIS INDIGNITY!!!???
Anyone...
Ya all know I'm getting two of these. Who else things there's going to be a sticker with the pilots name and it says "Christopher Colins" or "Christopher Latta?"

Sounds pretty cool, although when I saw the title, I was really hoping for a Transformer painted in the colours of a G.I. Joe or Cobra vehicle.

Even though I can't go, I'm really hoping to pick this up. Love this idea and hoping they'll be vintage throwbacks to the 80s.

I'm wondering the same. I'm kind of hoping for another G1 reissue.

I got a GI Joe Skystriker for Christmas back in the 80s, when it first came out. I was born in 71, so I'd've been about 14 or so. I'm not ashamed to say I cried when I saw what it was, it was huge and glorious. Still have it, or most of it anyway.
Anybody care to take the above pic and shop it into Starscreams colors?

Actually, I seem to recall having seen something like that before so you may be able to hunt it down on Google Images or some such site.
Also, glad to see another "early 70's" fan on here. I was staring to feel like one of the "Old Guys" on the site (1973 for me) what with so many teens, tweens and twenty-somethings on here.
Wouldn't mind getting the redone SkyStriker except that 1) I have no room to display it and 2) I'm anal about the fact that the original 'Screamer is an Eagle and not a Tomcat. I know, that's nitpicking, but for me I just feel some things like that shouldn't be messed with.

Hasbro's Comic-Con booth is a madhouse but I may have to brave through that madness just for this.

UPDATE: For those of you who didn't see this in our gallery of official press photos from Hasbro, here is a photo of the complete set and a shot of Cobra Commander in his pilot suit with the mini Megatron gun.

I don't collect Joe stuff though I am a fan, but I think I need these.

That Starscream painted jet and Cobra Commander set is seriously cool. Bet it's going to sell out super fast at the SDCC....
