I just watched the 2nd Transformers movie again last night. One thing that hit me was the novelty idea of old fashioned cars being able to transform.

Pictures from the movie show that they intended this to happen but not one toy has been made along those lines, aside from a couple of crap biplanes.





They were called "The Seekers" the oldes of the old......

So why can't we have a few old fashioned cars done as transformers? I'd love to see something like an old Duesenberg or Packard Victoria that could transform.

So for those that know what kind of older cars would you like to see transform?

I wouldn't mind some of the older cars or maybe even locomotives. The concept was and is cool. I didn't buy the biplane guys from the toy line though, they just looked silly to me. I did think it was kind of hilarious that Jetfire, who was a seeker and had been in hiding, had an alt mode as modern as an SR-71 Blackbird. Hilarious in a, "Who's writing this?" kind of way.

I'm still waiting for the day that we'll get Hearts of Steel toys.

I would kill for some Da Vinci type Transformers.

You do know about this guy right? http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/prod ... ode=retail If not, he's decent if not a little fragile. Personally, I'd rather get a bunch of those beast guys that were in the first couple pages of that comic. That's me though.

Well Astrotrain did transform into a vintage type steam locomotive.

There actually were transformers based on older cars in the GN.2 series called "Laser Rods" that had light-up engines and what I would best describe as as a clear plastic energy sword that plugged into the hand and also lit up like the engine.There is currently a scout-class figure in the HFTD line called "Hubcap" which transforms into a 60's style red coup(remember the car from the ZZTop video?).

I'd love some modern TFs at a deluxe size that transform into old cars. Although i suppose the market for that is too niche for Hasbro / Takara's tastes.

Plus the insectitrain and shockwave steamboat mode toys are coming....
I'm only tempted by the insectitrain though, being deluxe sized and all...

I love Hubcap and got that one when it first arrived down here.

Yep I love Hubcap and have a couple of those. One for display and to play with and one in the pack sealed

That is a great TF. However, BBTS has that price inflated through the roof. Hubcap is still around here at WM.

I like the bi-plane.

I am definitely on board for this. The style of the TFs in Hearts of Steel is awesome!

What about the Transformers comics set during WW II? with GI Joe?

I mean the seekers were on earth before the atomic age so they were likely not disguised as electrical cars, or even gasoline powered cars.

ROTF Ransack was a cool little biplane, the Kaiser's Nazgul as one reviewer put it.

They had ROTF Hubcap and Ransack, as well as RTS Highbrow and Lugnut(sort of WWII-ish, besides the jet engine).

I've changed my mind about Ransack. I actually don't mind it. I ended up buying that one. It's not as bad as I thought but the guns do look a little silly on the bottom wings.

ROTF hubcap is pretty cool. I really dig the 'Hearts of Steel' Optimus from bigbadtoystore.com ('officially' called a knight morpher?). Bummed that it does seem to be an official TF, might still have to get it though.
