the perfect prime?

hello all i have a rather unusual request...
i own exactly 0 primes!
i have a pretty decent TF collection, but tend to steer towards decepticons and i developed a dislike for poor old prime back in the G1 days (ducks for cover) as a kid i hated his empty see through chest and the part forming fists pissed me right off (same went for the seekers but at least they were otherwise solid and jets after all)...
now, after many years and tons of incarnations i think im ready to pick up my first optimus, after all i need someone for megs to abuse!
OK, well the thing is i dont know where to start.
the things i want my prime to fit are...
MUST be voyager or deluxe NO leader class
should be predominately red and blue
preferably earth alt mode
should have good articulation.
should at least be reminiscent of G1 prime.
absolutely NOT G1 prime i still hate his empty see through chest and parts forming fists...
im ok with all the lines and my collection spans most lines...
what are your guys favorites? and suggestions?

I would reccomend either the First Strike Voyager Optimus Prime, or the Robo-Vision Voyager Optimus Prime. They're both great decos of the same great mold. Note that the mold is a little back-heavy, but it's worth it for the rest of the figure.

Classics voyager Prime, or Henkei one.

Yeah, based on the criteria, this is really about the only option...unless dude wants to go the KO Faith Leader route.

I'd throw my vote towards Henkei Optimus Prime as well. He is a nice update of the G1 Prime and has all the other criteria that you specify.

Deluxe Armada Prime. A solid, fun figure and absolutely no see-through chest at all.

Voyager Classics Prime (or Henkei Convoy) fits the criteria best.
Though for a cheaper alternative (and I'm probably going to get stoned for this) the Ultimate Battle Deluxe Prime has all points mentioned but the alt mode while very much earth mode, is not quite up to par with Voyager Classics.

Its very very easy and cheap to come by though.

hmmm the classics/henkai prime is good, but im not too sure about his forearm kibble, it looks really restrictive and cumbersome. does it get in the way much?
as for the Robo-Vision Voyager Optimus Prime pretty cool over all, i was also looking at the battle blade optimus as well i like the pop up matrix of leadership (yeah i know its not THE matrix of leadership but its still a nice touch... any pros and cons over these two molds?
for the alt mode i dont mind if the truck is G1 or not i dont mind the peterbilt look it doesnt have to be the cab over design... it should ideally be a red and blue truck but im not obsessed with the original design...

Look at my signature, that's the Classics Voyager Prime mold only in white as Magnus. The arm pieces are kibble-y, but they are surprisingly not restrictive. Since they end up on the outside, you can get any poses you want. The arms are fully articulated.

weird what the heck happened there, crazy double post action...
well so far im thinking either classics or the battle blade prime (well maybe both i suppose 2 primes is better than one

)
does anyone here have anything to say about the Robo-Vision Voyager Optimus Prime and the BB Prime? which out of these two is preferred? pros cons?
hmmm as for the henkai, very cool, im still not wild about the arm kibble, i think i will go watch some reviews and look through the galleries here...
any more advice?

Not really. The problem is the legs don't collapse. If they did, it might not be half bad. A shame, really.

The alt mode of Robo-vision Voyager Prime is nice. The updated voyager Prime has a much nicer bot mode.
The deluxe sized SE Prime has a great robot mode, but his alt mode is terrible. I kept him in the box (the box is really nice).
Honestly, the Hasbro Classics Voyager is one of my favorite Tf's of all time (I hear the Henkei one is more toon accurate but I don't have it). The arm kibble is there, but the figure doesn't suffer because of it. Of the options so far, I recommend this one.

I'm going with Classics/Henkie Prime. Plus, he looks really great with the G3 FP trailer.....

Actually, that set is more expensive than the Classics Voyager Prime by a wide margin.

Classics/Henkei Optimus Prime is perfect.
All others are hapless imitations.
What? Arm kibble? That's not kibble, it's CHARACTER!
.....
Seriously, why must I be alone in defending Classics Prime's forearm bits? Am I the only person who can look at him and say that those parts make his silhouette perfect for what the toy represents?

- Powermaster Optimus Prime
- Armada "Supercon" Prime
- Reveal the Shield G2 Optimus Prime
everyone's mentioned the Henkei\Classics Prime toy, but alas, I'm not too much of a fan of it.

Voyager Animated Optimus is probobly one of my favorite Optimus...es. He's kind of like G1 optimus, just with awesome shaped windows.
