Question about United/RTS Jazz's Misaligned Hood Panels.

I was transforming my United Jazz for the first time today. I didn't have any problems converting him into bot mode, but as I started transforming him back into alt mode, I noticed that the panels that flip down to make way for his head are misaligned with the frame of the car's front.

Here's a pic from the gallery to show you what I mean:

Notice how there's a large gap just above the number four, and on the two side panels where the wheel flip out? I don't remember seeing the misalignment when I first took it out of the box, and the pics in the box art show no such gaps.

Could I have somehow mistransformed it, or is this the same way in every other United/RTS Jazz fig?

Thanks for any help and info.

It's finicky. I have both versions. It's a little less noticable on the United version, but only because of how it's painted. I think they're all like that.

When I transform mine I always have a problem getting those little panels to line up.

I sometimes have trouble lining them up on my RTS version as well, although I am usually able to get them to line up well enough.

Once I DO get them lined up, it's a lot smoother than most. I think it "misaligns" because the tolerance is MUCH tighter than most other figures.

Hey CP, sorry to be off topic here, but i heard on Hasbro's Jazz the chest piece doesnt lock very well or doesnt lock at all when in bot mode and just wondering if Takara fix that issue or not?

Nope. In fact, the Takara arms are tighter to move, so the chest moves more frequently than the RTS version.

Yes I have noticed that with mine too. I don't think it's a bad thing because the UN version feels waay more sturdier.

Thanks for all the info, guys. I guess that means all the United/RTS Jazz figs are the same. I was worried I'd actually broke something.

How did you manage to get them lined up? I tried massaging and easing them every which way, and the refuse to line up.

If you know how, PLEASE do tell.

The chest-piece on the one I've got doesn't lock, either.
