I think that's one of the European G1 Reissues.

Thanx, 'Punch. Now that's inbteresting news because the guy who's trying to sell it for me says it's an original 1985 version... Does such a version even exist?

Not in that box with that art style, no. Also, CP is probably right on this. I'm fairly certain of it.

Oh well, as much as I want to have a nice G1 Prime in my collection, this box just doesn't cut it for me, even if the price is pretty inviting...

Info taken from TFwiki:

* Original Optimus Prime (Original Autobot Leader, 1990)
o Accessories: Laser Blaster, 2 fists (left & right), trailer/Combat Deck, Roller (dark blue), 4 rockets, hose, nozzle, fuel pump

This straight reissue of the original Optimus Prime figure was released in Hasbro's European markets in the early 1990s, at the same time as many other Generation 1 figures were being re-released as "Classics". Oddly, although he shares their golden packaging, Prime is not actually identified as a "Classics" figure anywhere on his box, but is generally considered to be part of the sub-line for simplicity's sake.
Just curious, what's the seller asking for it?

He's asking around $90 for it.

That's not that bad. Although I think you can score an Encore in packaging resembling the original art style for about that if not a little bit more. If you're opening, any G1 Prime option is good.
