Poor distribution or are we just impatient?

or both? Im referring to the newer RTS and Gen waves that are have yet to be released everywhere.

I realize most of us are a little impatient when it comes to the newer stuff but it just seems like alot of these figs are taking forever to be mass released...

I'm thinking a bit of both. I've only seen RtS once in my area, and that was back before Christmas. I had to go on a two-hour trip to find Jazz.

Aside from that Wave, though, I think we're being a bit impatient. And that may be due to that RtS wave. I mean, if Wave 1 has been poorly distributed, then that means people have gone a long time without seeing new figures. So there's probably a feeling that something new should have been out in the interim (being RtS 1), and that all of this new stuff, then, is clearly being much too slow at hitting the shelves.

I will admit to being one of these people. I went and preordered RtS 2 from BBTS. Luckily, the price actually came out to about a dollar more than I would have paid in-store, but I had a moment of weakness and impatience in waiting for the wave. So now I'm going to start checking for Generations 6, but I don't expect to see those for about a month yet.

it's possible and it's where you live. I went to my hometown of Charleston Sc and found more up to date toys then I ever find and I live in Raleigh.

I have decided that this year was not a good year for sales because I have been seeing older waves in most stores, especially Walmart --- who by the way recently reported they had less than stellar sales for the Christmas holiday. I suspect they probably won't get the newer waves in on time or maybe in small spurts.

I really am disappointed with how sketchy the future waves have become. For example wave 3 of the PCC got released before wave 2. I will just have to do without Grimstone until i can find him at retail.

I can never find RTS Jazz but I got UN Jazz for $27 from Japan as well as UN Grapple and Lugnut for $45 a piece. I guess sales have just been down for retailers so their being cautious.

target seems to have the newer waves in but you better be there when they put them out. Luckily for the last wave wtih thundercarcker I just ordered a case from TFsource. and an extra TC for safekeeeping

a local fellow hunter managed to find a Kup and a Scourge at WM but thats it. If what im told was true from a Target employee a TF reset is due for this week so im staying hopeful. TRU is the absolute worst! they are still pegging ROTF at FULL PRICE! and have never even got wave one of RTS to my knowledge.

I too have resulted in preordering some of the upcoming waves from BBTS which i never have done in the past.

BTW, the Legends case is "processing" in my preoders with BBTS

Also, it's pretty easy to be impatient with the Voyagers, since there are few waves, so we've been seeing the same bloody figures for what, six months now? Yeah, I'm ready to move on.

6 months seems to be a stretch but it sure feels like it

I wonder if having two army building figures (Wreck-gar and Scourge) has anything to do with it? too bad turner skids and sea attack ravage aren't army builders!

Poor distribution here in Chattanooga. I spoke to an employee at a local Walmart last week. He said they were shipped a ton of the first couple waves of each line. After they finally got through all those, they were shipped more of the same.

Reveal the Shield has been a complete no-show in Chattanooga, outside of the Battle in Space pack. That's it.

The only RtS figures I've seen are Fallback and Brainfart or whatever his name is. I've checked walmart, k-mart, target, toys r us, and even walgreens. I think it's poor distribution, which has happened before.

Yes, I am impatient. I want to get my hands on Generations Wheeljack and RTS Windcharger. Then on Generations Kup. I believe Generations and RTS are related, am I not correct?

I was spoilt living in Japan. In Japan every Transformer figure has a specific release date and it will absolutely become available in every store and conversely every store has stock of all new figures. Not being able to get a figure on a precise release date was a rare situation.

Moving to America has been a bit of a shock.

Wow, that does sound nice. Knowing the date something would be released and it actually being there, madness!

I think it's mix of both. I remember waiting for weeks for new figures once the initial sightings, typically in California, hit the sites. I didn't want to go online because of the markups, so I made trips on the weekends to various stores. Although I think the distribution has been altered a bit, I've bought the newest RTS and generations deluxes, but I haven't seen that many news postings on them beforehand.

Seems like distribution is an issue right now. Some parts of the country seem to get things in faster than others.

On a somewhat-related topic, i'm still waiting for RTS Lugnut to get put on HTS.

All this searching for figures has made me see some advantages to paying more at sites like BBTS that have them in stock. At $3+ a gallon for gas, the cost of searching is probably going to be greater than the premium paid + shipping from online stores. People talking about 1-2 hour drives for a figure just validates this.

I love the "thrill of the hunt" but at some point, my senses get a hold of me and I reallize I have to really commit to waiting things out or just buy them online.

I myself dont like having to wait months on end for a new figure to come out but I blame extremly poor distribution because the Wally World,TRU,and Target in my area never gets in anything new until either Summertime when the kids are out of school or around Xmas at the end of the year.

You make a very valid point. I tend to do my hunting while at work on company time with company gas. Shhhhhh! Plus, outside of work I don't usually make special trips to search for figures. I only look when I am at a store for something else.

I thought is was due the the Chinese New Year a couple of weeks back cause im sure during that time most of the factories was shut down for a couple days if not a week before production resumes again after the celebration and a friend at TFW2005 said it could be the Chinese new year and alot of the retail stores has to get rid of last years stock to avoid paying taxes on it, but lucky for me only getting 3 more figures from Hasbro, the rest from Takara, so i can wait.

I live in the charleston area. We've been pretty lucky with RTS and Generations, but you have to get to the stores shortly after they stock or you are SOL. The only stores that are putting RTS and Generations out are Targets. WM and TRU are still banging out ROTF stuff for the most part. All I'm lacking from the "current" waves is a Generations Scourge and I'm almost ready to bite the bullet and just preorder it from somewhere.

D-I-T-T-O.

Recently I discovered that buying entire waves at BBTS ends up being pretty competitive with in-store pricing after FL sales tax. And like you said, with $3 gas, BBTS ends up being a way better deal. Thank you Pile o' Loot.

Sure, I just paid $30 for Grapple and then another $8 for shipping, but once the Warpath Wave comes in, and so do my FP Explorer and Munitioners, it all evens out.

I just added Grapple and Lugnut to my Legends order...only 2 extra in shipping

Impatient or not....I have spent entirely too much of my time and money for gas searching for these. Im really not seeing a downside to the extra cash now that I can just sit back and wait for them to come to ME.

go BBTS!

No. It's clearly poor distribution.

BBTS is getting this large order now, when they were supposed to have it at the beginning of this month, end of last. They stated in an email conversation I had with customer service, that they didn't receive their full shipment and couldn't fulfill their outstanding orders because of it.

I think it's a bit of lag too. My area is still chock full of Wave 1, giving no reason for the stores to put out the newer stuff. My local Kohls has a 4 foot section filled with at least 30 each of Jazz, Tracks, Mindset and Fallback. There is also a ton of WFC Cliffjumpers, Dirges,Skullgrins, Thunderwings, Electrostatic Jolts, Sea Attack Ravages and Terradives filling the pegs at my local Targets.
