Dark Of The Moon Deluxe Thundercracker Revealed!

Thundercracker's been a dominant character in the Transformers franchise, and in the past years he has generally been a repaint of Starscream. However the only repaint in the movie-verse he's had was in the 2007 Movie toyline, and has since been avoided... until now! Thanks to Yahoo Japan member nihaohuwen, we've got looks at a Deluxe sized blue seeker with Mechtech weapons! That's right, it looks like we're already getting a repaint or perhaps even a remold of a figure that has yet to be released. Check it out below!

Image

You can tell it's a Deluxe class figure, as Starscream has the hinge in the middle, the bronze MechTech weapons and is about 3 and a 1/2 times the size of a Legion class figure.

Most excellent! I'm absolutely buying that.

Let's hope he has a prominent role in the movie!

It actually looks pretty good. I won't be getting it, since I'm not interested in the Deluxe Starscream mould, but I like the colours.

I doubt that he'll have a role. The color scheme for Thundercracker is not very realistic, even though it would suck not to have the Seekers (G1 interpretation) in the DOTM

Awesome, this means I don't have to buy the Voyager version from the 2007 Movie line! Kind of works out well too, with each line represented in my collection by a different seeker. Movie 2007 = Skywarp (though technically ROTF, it's the old mold), ROTF = Leader Starscream, DOTM = Deluxe Thundercracker. 8)

GRRRR...Darn it! Now I'm gonna have to pick up 3 DotM toys. Starscream, which I could have cared less about before, T-cracker and the eventual Skywarp. Didn't want to drop the dough for all 3 Voyager versions when the opportunities arose before but Deluxe Class is just too good to pass up as far as price range for Movie-verse Seeker group. I do like the Raptor style and I love the paint apps for Thundercracker. Starscream however is going to get a much needed paint job unless some store is going to be hosting a G1 paint style version of him. *cough* wally-world *cough*

Wow, that's the first picture that's really impressed upon me just how small the DotM Voyagers are. I mean, Shockwave barely seems larger than DotM Deluxe Barricade, who we've already seen is much smaller than previous deluxe Barricades. I prefer smaller transformers in general but, wow.

Eh, I was hoping for a new mold. Though I am really excited for the new generations Thundercracker, I think that, the classics (and G1) are the only molds I like as a Starscream repaint. I think the movie mold is more suited for Starscream, seeing how the grey is a little bit realistic. Though the tatoos totally contradict that statement XD.

However....

If Thundercracker has a prominent role in the movie I could be convinced, but for now it looms like a simple repaint.

I love how the actual patterns are completely different on the two Seekers. Should distinguish them nicely.
Hoping there are some mold changes, though, at least a new head. As both "G1" and "Movie Con" having all the Seekers identical, it still just seems wrong to have someone as distinguished as Starscream be just one of a series.

Looks fantastic in alt' mode, however I really can't stand movie-verse Starscream. Personally I think he looks totally ridiculous with his chicken like, scrawny, spindly legs. So on that basis, I think I'll pass.

It's hard to imagine that could achieve such a pronounced effect.

I'll probably get a Thundercracker since I missed the one from the first movie. What I would really like is if leader Starscream gets repainted and has a head remold as Thundercraker and Skywarp. And from this picture, it looks like that voyager Shockwave is pretty small. It's still pretty cool, but I'm waiting for an awesome leader though :CON:

I like it. I hope they make a G1 colored Starscream instead of the stupid tattoos.

And I kinda like Shockwave being small. Since he is G1 colors he will fit nicely with my classics Decepticons. Im getting used to all the best figures being deluxe. Im into scale. I think voyager class should be reserved for Prime and Megatron. I dont like 2nd and 3rd tear characters being as big as Prime. And I love leader class figures, but as stand alone pieces, not to be incorparated with any themed display.

Hopefully, it's not another Wal*mart shelf-warmer like Skywarp and Ramjet. Defintie pass!

Why is the hinge grey? Ruins the blue exterior. I would imaging that a character that is not in the film is more likely to shelf warm than one that is. Overall he looks pretty smart but what about his bot mode?

It's probably on a different sprue than the blue plastic.

Is it just me, or do those both look too big to be Deluxes? They look like Voyagers to me, I don't think it's the camera angle. The shot is almost an overhead shot, and those planes are significantly larger than the Deluxe care, even larger than the other Voyagers in the picture.

If I recall correctly we got verification at Toy Fair that Starscream is a deluxe.

If it's not the warped perspective that Blurrz claims, then it's probably because Starscream's relatively 'thin' compared to the cars - past pics of Deluxe Starscream have indicated that the mold has decently realistic proportions, meaning he's wide and flat. So his wing span is probably twice the size of an Autobot car, but with his landing gear up he's significantly 'shorter' (height wise) making him roughly the same mass (especially when you consider that wings don't add much in that regard).
