Well, they're basically the same thing in different sizes and at VERY different price points. So, if someone doesn't want to spend a lot of money for Masterpiece Convoy, they can just get the Robot Masters version. True or false?

I beg to differ: Robot Masters G1 Convoy is not a Masterpiece by any means. If anything, Hybrid Style G1 Convoy, while more expensive comes closer to being a MP-Mini-Me. RM G1 convoy is a totally different mold that happens to share some of its detailing with MP Convoy. The waist and lower are the most different (I've even heard he's rather fragile there).

In fact, Classics Deluxe Prime can work as a substitute as well if you don't mind a failing truck mode and a punching gimmick.

Being a cheapskate myself, i plumped for THS-02 Convoy instead of MP Prime

I think THS-02 has an equally crap alt mode to Classics deluxe Prime...other than the fact he comes with a pretty sweet trailer. He's a very nice action figure, great detailing and poseability with a bunch of cool accessories, but a pretty mediocre "Transformer".

I don't even see how this argument makes sense. RM Convoy is an entirely different mold from the Masterpiece figure.

I wouldn't even put the 2 figures in the same class just because of the difference between them.

I would heavily recommend taking a good long look at the 2 figures and you'll see that the RM is completely different from the Mastrpiece, in size, looks, and in construction.

Robot Master Convoy isn't anywhere close to MP status. It's ok at best. I like it better than the Hasbro deluxe Classic but that isn't saying a great deal.
