When I started buying Transformers in 2008, after not having had a single new one in 20 years, I thought $6.99 was awful steep for a Scout. $5 seemed reasonable.

Now $7 seems cheap: Target and Walmart in Maryland have raised the prices on Scouts to almost $9, which is insane. I've paid less than that for most Deluxes.

So, what do you think is a fair price for a Scout?

Where/how do you get the best deals on Scouts?

$7-8 is as far as I'll go. Most of them are pegwarmers anyway so there's no need to pay more.

I don't buy scouts because of the ridiculous price point. I remember when the Scout class first came out, they had a $6 price point.

Unless it's an important scout like some of the upcoming RTS stuff, I wait until sales.

If it's worth it, any amount. Same like City Commander.

Completely agree. I've paid much more for far less mass.

Robofreak, I wasn't just talking about normal prices. I mean sales prices, too. Your answer basically says you would buy a Scout, if it gets cheap enough. So if you would buy a Scout, though not at full price, what is the right price for you?

I'd reackon $6-9. No more than that.

Well, now that I have more clarification, I normally like to stay in the $5 to 7 range for them.

I've also seen some collectors selling them in large lots for decent prices. I'm going to start taking advantage of that soon.

I won't normally shell out any more than that unless it's an exclusive or something.

$5. Unfortunately, they sell for more in the stores. Which is why I have no scouts.

I think I paid 8-9 with tax for Breacher recently. But I really feel he was worth it. In the past, I'll snag one around the 6-7 mark.

And I just added one to my Pile of Loot on BBTS for 4.50 on clearance.

That depends on it's age. If it's over 10 years of age, I will pay $11-12 for a scout. It it is about 5 years of age, probably $8-10. If it is new, then, well, HASBRO prices that. And if it's a future scout: $13-15.

Mostly depends on how I see it. If for example if it's in the RTS line, I'll pay for them at the normal 9.00. But how the movie line came out and had all the repaints, I'll buy one if it's a must for me, others I find cheaper after some time on Ebay or Craigslist or pass altogether.
