They are kind of random in colors but there are some Diaclone drivers that came with a helmet like head and one with control headphones (all molded in die-cast btw)

There were actually two sizes of Diaclone drives. The first and most common were the Inch-man, no higher than, your guessed it, an inch. The second kind was a bit larger, and only came with the Fortress Maximus of Diaclone: Fortress X.

ahh i see..i the skywarp i have is a reissue and has a different cockpit cover than the original, it seems as if the shape was changed specifically to prevent diaclone figures from sitting inside of him. i found out he came with a yellow sideswipe originally, and hes been sittin inside him since

I don't know about the reissues, but I know they changed the design of the canopy back during the original g1 run at some point, probably not to thwart diaclone drivers, but rather to make them less likely to snap off.

Question: To my recollection Sideswipe doesn't have a place for people to sit in? Did you mean Sunstreaker?

I've seen those, but frankly - if I'm gonna buy a figure thats already been made, I'd rather get a Diaclone driver and do the painting myself. The Impossible Toys ones just aren't [don't wanna sound like a cock] well painted enough.... ;)

Shame Transrepro never got back to production. 4 drivers for $12 was a pretty sweet deal. Now it's like one driver for $20.

Might be easier (not to mention cheaper) to pick up scale model figures. HO scale railroad workers could be modded to look like Spike and Sparkplug pretty easy.
