Just fiddling with a couple of my TFs and noticed this, feature ?(closest term I call it anyway.)

Transformers G1 Jazz
is about the same size of TFA Jazz and United but once transformed, well G1 Jazz is a midget while the two towers him.

Same with TF G1 Starscream, the jet mode compared with henkei, well the former dwarfs the size of the latter and yet in 'bot mode, they are nearly the same size.

Same with Metalhawk, in 'bot mode, they are the same height but in jet mode, 'screamer becomes waaaaaaay dwarfs him.

I wouldn't want to call it mass shifting but, well what would you call it? Scale comparison?

Note: More applicable to G1 and some henkei stuff.

LOL, yep, some G1s certainly lacked them!

Proportions. Even if two figures are the same height, it's their proportions and bulk of their limbs that determine the size of the vehicle. A good example is Armada Tidal Wave. An Ultra, yet dwarfs his Class-mates with his height in robot mode.

What he said. An even better example is to compare Animated Lockdown and Animated Blurr with Animated Jazz and Animated Sentinel Prime. All four vehicle modes are roughly the same size, but Lockdown and Blurr tower over Jazz, and Sentinel Prime is a stubby little midget. :D
