Our darkest hour...

Alright, as many of you are finding out, the fandom has been in a bit of a drought since, well, the holiday season. For some its been rough. Others have taken to customizing to fill the void, either buying or creating. While others sit inside and scratch the backs of their hands raw in anticipation of the sweet, sweet release of plastic depravity.
However... there have been deeper, darker droughts. (Armada anyone?)
Whats would you consider our darkest hour in terms of poor circulation or distribution??

The time between the middle of G2 and the start of Beast Wars.

We go through times of bad distribuition with every series. Energon suffered from it big time and the 2007 movie hype left shelves empty for a long time.
To me the droughts have never been a big deal. During those times, I refocus my efforts on filling gaps in older lines.

Yeah, I don't mind this so much. At least there's product on the shelves.

Agreed! I'm taking the time to try and find a legitimate Henkei Black Convoy. I know its a longshot, but at least theres a goal in mind. Droughts are neosporin to wallets and checking accounts.

What bothers me about this one is we're so close to DotM that it's now or never for a lot of these figures. I won't be surprised if most of us never see Lugnut.

You should try living in the UK. We're almost in a permanent state of drought over here, its a bit like the Sahara desert of the TF collecting world!

There are no droughts, there are only times to repair the gaping holes in my bank account.

I enjoy the peace and quiet. It gives me a chance to dust everything.

For England I'd consider it the time between G1 and sometime in the future.

Not from England but I'll go with Myk above...almost. Which came first: Release of MP Prime or the release of the first Classics? Because our darkest hour extends from the end of G1 to whichever of those two came first.
However, since I didn't get back into this hobby until 2007 (or was it 2008?), back-collecting to fill the gaps in my collection will be a little pricey but on the other hand it gives me something to do while there isn't much for sale and I have to suffer through the months of the DOTM line which I won't be participating in.

During a time in which a toy line has been active? (essentially ignoring the times when a line was over and we were unsure if another was coming)
Transformers Energon between waves 1 and 2. There's really no question or debate about this at all.

And thus why I don't have very many Energon figures.
Dissapoints me too, because it's one of my favorite sets and getting the missing pieces of my collection are going to cost me a lot of money.

What drought? I've been buying lots of cool TFs the past few months: HftD, RTS, Generations, and PCC.

If it weren't for the internet, i would have to say now is a dark time for me. I am able still get what I want (for th most part), but I miss seeing the toy aisles filled with them....

That period inbetween RID and Armada. Cripes.
For the UK, though - pretty much the whole lot. Even in G1 we got shafted for Shockwave, Swoop and a few other key releases.

Don't say that! It'll happen!
