With all of the current tragedies ravaging Japan right now, it made me think,

"In a catastrophic event, what would be five transformers that you would grab while leaving your collection behind?"

First of all, in a real catastrophic event you would not be thinking about your toys or collectibles, you would thinking about your spouse, loved ones and your own ass and your safety!! Toys can be replaced, lives can't!!

First of all, in a real catastrophic event you would not be thinking about your toys or collectibles, you would thinking about your spouse, loved ones and your own ass and your safety!! Toys can be replaced, lives can't!!

I would imagine this is a hypothetical situation where "if you could grab, what would you?". I think It goes without saying that loved ones take precedence over collectible toys. At least that is how I understood it. Of course I would make sure my son and wife got to safety before I would worry about silly chunks of plastic. But if I had time to save some of it.....

Yeah, this is a hypothetical situation. Of course we'd all grab:

Handgun and Ammo
Hunting Knife
Lighter
A Backpack
And Five pairs of socks

then hole ourselves up in a super market. (preferably with transformers)

I prefer to think of this as "Desert Island Transformers" like the old "Desert Island Discs". The implications are less unfortunate than talking about disasters at the moment.

So, you're trapped on a desert island. Somehow food, drink, companionship and healthcare are not issues here. That said, you are trapped with only five toys from your current collection for the rest of your life. Which do you take?

G1 Snapdragon. He may well be the best G1 figure of all.

Alternity Convoy. His sheer artistry and awesome design make him a must.

BotCon SG Sideswipe. He's actually Deluge and that's awesome.

G1.5 Rotorstorm. No explanation needed.

RiD Rail Racer. Bestest combiner ever.
