Popular YouTube reviewer peaugh has uploaded a video review for Transformers DOTM Deluxe Jolt. He barely made an appearance in ROTF and it's unknown if he will even be in DOTM, but he's definitely getting a Deluxe figure. This time around Jolt has traded his whips for a MechTech cannon. Better than ROTF Deluxe Jolt? The video is embedded below.

I like him much better than the rotf toy so far. :) Might get him on sale or summat. :)
The legs I'm not completely sold on, but the hood feet (reference, as it were) I can take. :D

Hmm, not bad. What I'm not sold on are the color scheme and hands, to some extent. But it does look better than the ROTF version, aside from the colors.

I think I'll pick him up when he comes out. Looks like an improvement on the original.

Okay, I have some very mixed opinions for this guy...

So to start off on a good note, I do like him in various ways. The light blue paint seems to be a fault to most but I do like it with the blackmcarbonfiber paint. Speaking of the carbonfiber deco, this might be this Jolt's greatest attribute. It is surprisingly realistic and makes for a nice glossy cover. The paint on this guy is superb, which includes various blue and black paint apps, making it probably the best scheme I've seen out of Dark of the Moon yet.

Another great detail is his proportions. He is not one of those weird designs to come out of the movieverse, but but to look lime a heroic Autobot, a d very much human like. It gives him a sense of character in one way, and he's not just a hulking giant for show. (Strange how I derived "character" from Jolt, lasting a whole 10 seconds in ROTF) His feet are REMARKABLE, very G1 esc and a nicy classy touch, brought into the movieverse. He also has a nice looking head sculpt, which complements the figure quite well.

Now onto the faults. To start off, the unnecessary gimmick of mechtech. I think you can agree with me by saying that mechtech is a gimmick that, muchike Armada, limits the figures true potential. The mechtech clearly limits the figure in more than one ways. Without the mechtech, Jolt wouldn't have those two dumb holes on his roof, that just about ruins the carbon fiber appeal with baby blue gaps in the paint. Not to mention the plastic melted into that stupid gun, could easily be used as tabs, to lock in his arms and connect the head to his chest, which could of widely increased the figure.

Now the biggest gripe I have with Jolt are the zigzag arms. For whatever reason Hasbro has gone with this trend it needs to end with Jolt and leader Bumblebee. What's worse is the clip gimmick implemented in his arms could of easily solved the problem. The pin used to flip out the clip connector could of been used in his arm to extend the arm, and getting rid of the zigzag and add an extra point of elbow articulation.

Now, Hasbro is not venturing back into their Armada days, but with these gimmicks sucking up the budget and hindering the figures it almost seems like it. Instead of having glossy and vivid paintjobs and more articulated figures, we are getting giant useless guns and swords.

I am still on the fence with Jolt but so far, Hasbro's faults are somewhat outweighing the great things about this figure. I am a huge fan about the Transformers: Prime esc wings, but the arms and mechtech are so disappointing.

This figure is so totally different from ROTF Jolt that it may as well be a totally different character. And Rated X, who says Jolt won't get any screen time? We haven't seen DOTM yet, after all, and he might appear in yet another group shot.
